If you want a smooth experience maybe you should buy a real flagship, not some cheap redmi phone. I had a Mi Mix 3, Mi 11 Ultra in the past, and the user experience was extremely smooth on both of those phones. In fact it was much better than the Galaxy S21U or S22U with laggy animations (Exynos variants).

miui is a mediocre os/skin. its evident from the fact that the existing phones run smoothly after getting rid of this miui and having a custom rom like lineageos/pixel rom. every year we keep hearing the same story that this time its more efficient.... guess what its more buggy, more ads, spyware and poor ram management. xiaomi phones are only good with custom roms.
