Dkj195, 12 Dec 2022Why do we need sd card when we can directly transfer data t... morelong time ago i had one without microSD support, when change new phone it takes hours upon hours to complete the transfer of data & files from old phone to new phone. after that just only to discover more than 20% of them CORRUPTED after the transfer. if you have a microSD, everything important which you already know will carry to new phone can be stored safely in there without the RISKS of corruption during transferring, just a simple action of plug in & plug out

Sure, one can argue anyone can steal photos then, but for some it's more important to have memories safe than potential someone stealing their photos. Only alternative to that is backing up photos to cloud which can be annoying for people on limited data plans and sync has always been so sketchy and unreliable from my experience. I have tons of data and the damn thing wouldn't immediately backup photos, it always waits for hours for some reason. Like, why?!

Lack ot 3.5mm jack is unacceptable, but the "no sd" whining is silly and childish, unless phone itself doesn't have enough memory. But 256GB basic storage is a great improvement.
I personally have two sim cards and since most phones only have shared second slot, i'm forced to use the internal storage despite "having" an sd slot.

Dkj195, 12 Dec 2022Why do we need sd card when we can directly transfer data t... morebecause i don't feel like sending 100s of photos/vids or music files to my PC or from my PC to my phone, through these garbage ad filled apps like Mi share or Share it nor the transfer speeds of BT are good enough for that. and don't get me started with the "Spotify" and "Souncloud" argument, I don't want my data cost emptying my pocket and killing my battery phone when a 256gb SD card has been a time purchase since 4 years ago and been doing great! we already lost, removable batteries, i ain't giving up on 3.5mm headphone jack and SD card slot.

redmi Note 12 Pro is better because it has a better design

StormyParis, 12 Dec 2022Plus there might be a POCO variant with an SD slot ?I don't know that. I never use sd card cause i always get 256gb phone.

I hoped Xiaomi would put snapdragon chip instead but apparently no.
Anyway, it's still early to buy a phone and knowing Xiaomi will release hundreds of phones, I'll just have to wait for the right one next year.

Why do we need sd card when we can directly transfer data to another device via Bluetooth, mi share, nfc other apps, I don't get the hassle with not having sd cards

Unless they add micro SD support I don't care. Redmi Note series without micro SD or headphone jack is pointless. Might as well get the Samsung A53. At least that has ip67 and 5 years of software support
