Please explain what useless features Sony phones provide. What makes them useless?
"And a Vireless audio which beaten wired ones long time ago."
This is why nobody takes you seriously here. Wireless will never be better than wired, especially in terms of stability.

same goes for many else brands which dont have own cloud storage.
Wired audio is goner since there is no other way to improve jack and jack hole.
It got its final upgrade like 15 years ago and since then it came t a point where nothing else can be done for improvement.

Man since cables are burden yes. Largest or one if biggest landfills SUDOKWON belongs to Samsung and is build next to a Samsung main factory in South Korea. It coves a space of maybe 100 or even more footbal pitchs. You can find tons of wired things there and a lot of polution and garbage because its landfill.
Man about SD cards i buy or bought mine from my country from slovakia. Mine is Samsung EVO 256GB bought on www.heureka.sk page for 25 euros.
Man having options for jack and SD slot is fine if you willing to negotiate companies to use it.
Since Sony is last who gives this to its flagship grade phones and even sSony will skip it in next 2-3 years i really think it will hapens you have nothing to do with that just go with age and era and stay quiet like me and everybody else.

AnonD-731363, 14 Dec 2022Man having a 256, 512 or 1TB must been sufficient for every... moreYou said it all with your last sentence. "They" will do anything to boost their sales and profit. Meaning what? Why can't you just answer what everbody's talking here.
This --->
Yeah... Nowdays people "can" have 1TB of memory on their phones, but how many people are buying those? Not many. Why? Because it's bloody expensive. Look how much difference between 128, 256, 512 and 1024GB is in the price. How can you say that's better then having a dedicated SD memory card which cost waaaay less. There are some cases when you need to swap your memory into another device. It can be anything not just a phone. You simply can't do that. And yeah, some people need a lot of memory for their devices and you can't ignore it just because you're personaly satisfated with just 128GB on your phone.
3.5mm jack still has more advantages then his modern BT brother. For example you don't have to worry about your battery for your buds and their adapters, yoi can use it like a external microphone, you can use it as antenna for FM radio... Yeah I know who still uses FM radio, but if you don't have a internet connection or low signal you are doomed. The only downside of classic 3.5mm headphones is that they are connected with wire, but than again, you can never loose one bud.
People just want a choice, but companies brainwashed us to think Cloud storage (with subscribtion fees which they can and they are rising prices when ever they like) and BT is absoutelly better then the older tech which is not the case. The moment iPhone 7 ditched their 3.5mm jacks with others from Android world just following suit, the BT market exploded. If you made your own choice to storage your files on a Cloud or buying a mega expensive phones with 1TB of memory go ahead and enjoy, but you can't say 3.5mm or SD memory still doesn't have their strong points.
Now, if you would be so kind and reply did you agree with me on at least some points I made?
I don't want to sound like hey.. my version of the truth is right and yours is wrong, just want an honest opinion on advantages and disvantages of both and how practical they can be.
And please don't bring the waterproofness in this. We both know how loud your arguments against IP67 certificates which almost none of your beloved Chinese phones don't have.
Please just be honest for once and tell us YOUR opinion about practicality on above mentioned reasons which everybody here is talking about. People know what companies are preaching for years why did they remove this or that. People know that's BS. What are your thoughts about that?
Cheers!

Daimon, 14 Dec 2022Nope. Wired audio will never gone. But indeed i agree all p... moreWell thats also the point.
But i think wired will be soon or later gone.
Many odl tech been prevailed with something better.
OLd cassetess were also gone.
Same goes for CDs, DVDs where blueray or wireless tech and streaming media such as Disney or Netflix or HBO prevailed.
Many else tech been replaced with something newer and better.
Its not what i want its about what i believe.
Soon or later even wired tech will be gone.

The reason why they remove the jack is also for profit, reduce feature but keep (even increase) the price.
Man.. All companies are evil. Including sony. Soon sony will follow this trend for the sake of more profit.

Wireless buds have batteries in both the case and the buds themselves. Those batteries degrade and then you dump them for new ones. Wired headphones work all the time, zero charging needed, and more durable.
Also, as I tell everyone in the galaxy, having a headphone jack has not once prevented you from using Bluetooth just like how a microSD card slot does not prevent you from using internal storage (let alone it does not slow down your phone). If you've had bad luck with microSD cards, I'm gonna assume you bought them brutally cheap on eBay which means they are dud cards and that's on you for slapping your data in them instead of getting the battery cards from PNY or SanDisk.

People can plug an external dac into the usb port, and enjoy wired audio.
What they'll have to do is just buy a good quality dac.

andibad, 14 Dec 2022Again baseless statement, wired one is losing on wireless? ... moreMan was nice and fun reading you.
Reason SD cards are removed from phones is for either security reasons and for better dust and water resistance. Also for the fact mechanical parts are first to breaks and when SD card breaks you have no other way just to format it and loose all data. It happened to me 3 months after buy and many else people here had simmilar problems.
So card solves nothing.
Cloudstorage is an option or OTG or cable or wireless transfer from phone to PC etc.
In case of wireless audio jack has and must been removed becuase its old ancient archaic technology which has been developed back in 1867. Like 15 years ago adding last 4th ring was last possible upgrade and it came to a point where jack and jack hole cannot get any better no matter what.
Companies understands wireless is the future and is better for environment.
In past wireless mode were just as you said but is almost 2023 wireless is long time over the statement of yours (First, wireless bt is on lossy mode, and lagged a lot (lag 1 second or more is not acceptable by professional or live streamer).
Wireless options are here since WW1 when it was first time used and like 10-12 years ago when companies understands wired one cant be improved any further they were improving and evolving wireless ones.
Almost noone today working on wired solutions because they are goners.
For sake of environment and future wired is gone or soon will be and you have to live with this fact unless you want to build own company making own products which will probably noone buy because less and less devices comes with jack.

Dometalican, 14 Dec 2022You keep saying this but audiophiles will disagree with you... moreMan having a 256, 512 or 1TB must been sufficient for everybody.
Paying for cloud storage for having whole redtune, p*rn hub, freevideo.cz etc yes thats a really great idea.
Those so called audiophiles have a bad luck since not many nowdays developing vired audio because is technoplogy of the past and not impressive anymore.
Whathewer you say companies will do what brngs em more profit and thus wireless audio is a very easy winner here.

AnonD-731363, 14 Dec 2022Man yes last brand giving useless features from the past no... moreAgain baseless statement, wired one is losing on wireless? Is seems you just lost on your own statement.
First, wireless bt is on lossy mode, and lagged a lot (lag 1 second or more is not acceptable by professional or live streamer). Is okay if is just listening audio, streaming something or just for convenience. But is never replace the wired one which is need quality analog signal rather than digital one. The reason they more preferred wired jack port than usb c or wireless because digital signal. Is pointless to listening an lossless audio from online streaming or own cd dump using wireless one, since audio come from wireless are on lossy mode because lower bandwidth from transmiter.
The reasom they remove jackport are just force people to bought their wireless product.
Second, microsd are essential phone feature is not hurt you lot if is still there. Is funny to see a baseless and clueless statement to defend the markerter who want remove sd card on any segment. Huge internal is not right reason to remove sd card slot, is just like extra sdd m2 slot on laptop. Is not hurting you even you not using it, but still a lot people is using it on offline usage. And google intentionally tune down speed on microsd and usb one, is just force you lot bought their online subscription. Is just waste of money if is rarely to using it.
They should stop offer useless ip rating, when your phone is getting repaired (replace battery or just checking something), wireless charging (useless thing they still kept on their flagship, they also force you bought another peripheral which is still need a cable, and also is not flexible), 4K 2K lcd (is kinda waste on small dimension like smartphone), 16B 32B lcd (is so wasted, since lcd ips is already enough), trigger button (why just bought an controller), 100 MP 200 MP (is pointless if is just interpolation), and a lot gimmicks they offer which only reduce the life of nand cell and batteries.

Anonymous, 14 Dec 2022xperia t3 and z2 exploded. search google by yourself. The fact that you had to tell the other person to search for it on Google indicates that the problem is not as severe as you're trying to make it appear. Everybody who knows enough about smartphones already know about bendgate of Apple and explosion of Samsung phones without even having to search for it, but mention Sony to them and the first thing that'll probably come to their minds is their novelty of making the world's first 4K screen smartphone, and that their smartphones are the very first to be truly water resistant that gave the blueprint to everybody else to do it as successfully as they did.

Anonymous, 14 Dec 2022Real audiophiles use serious equipment and not phones.Or rather, those audiophile people who already own professional audio equipment would appreciate it more if their phones are almost as capable in audio as their equipment.
Anyhow, you guys suddenly changed your minds and disregard these essential features on smartphones just because Samsung and Apple dictated you that it is the right thing to do.
You seriously believe that removing headphone jack and microSD card expansion slot would truly improve water resistance?? HAHAHAHA

Hanif Fikri, 14 Dec 202221:9 tall phone is the only reason i dont buy..And you're typing that on a modern-day smartphone, which most definitely has an aspect ratio that's not far-off from the industry-standard 21:9 ratio of these Xperias.
Oh let me guess, you're using an old phone that came before the bezel-less trend, just so you can dodge my case, right? Lol.

I've just received it on my Xperia 5 III so I can tell what changed
-They've added partially material you - it has few predefined themes, no auto
- New notification layout - settings are at bottom, along with power menu, and currently active apps
- Two more buttons on lock screen - wallet and home (can b disabled, don't know the reason of them there)
- Cool copy-paste editing tool (no copying to note app to edit what you need)
- Seems that minimum media loudness has increased (overall difference between minimum and maximum IMHO, I liked it being quiet on minimum)
- Animations are incredibly smooth now, and seems like overall snappier experience
- Need to check battery performance now.
Overall nothing changed much as Android 13 in general doesn't differ from 12
