I don't see anything wrong with this year's Galaxy Tab S tablets. They are still a potent powerhouse, especially if you always use DeX. If you really want a tablet as a laptop replacement, don't go for iPad as they are still a glorified iOS for large screens. Get a Microsoft Surface instead. Even the Go version is already more than enough for casual user.

Totally disagree with author. 1) Flip and Fold were terribe with screen issues and many people returned for screen exchange because after weeks , not months screens were popping up. 2) S22 Ultra was disaster with bugs and issues. Just search the net. And even year old Huawei P50 Pro has better camera than S22 Ultra. If you dont believe check out Dxo Mark tanking and charts with proof.

The A33 5G, A53 5G, and A73 5G are all complete fail. Not only the A73 doesn't have a telephoto camera unlike the A72, neither of them got a headphone jack.

IMO, A and M series were losers. A52 -> A53 and M52 -> M53 are just the examples I can think on top of my head. Something was either taken away or or downgraded somewhere.

Olympus Oms, 23 Dec 2022Fun fact. S22 has better screen in bright sunlight than s22... moreS22 Ultra has a peak brightness of 1750 nits, while the S22 has a peak brightness of 1300 nits.

There's no way the S22 is brighter under direct sunlight.

Wholeheartedly agree with this article. S22/S22+ are underwhelming flagships, while the Ultra deserves respect.

Anonymous, 23 Dec 2022The S23/23+ will also be letdowns if rumours are true.True. Very similar phones to S22/S22+

Only camera update I'd like on the S23 is a bigger sensor and probably periscope for the Plus. Even a 4x is good and competes with Pixels and iPhones. If they really want to compete, going against the Chinese brands even in their mid flagship offerings is a good way to put out a fight. Otherwise, it's just midranger with top specs and features.

Chixby, 23 Dec 2022FE series were the best smartphone Samsung made in the last... moreEven if they do release it, I'm sure it won't be able to live up to its name. S20 FE (5G) was released back when Snapdragon was a beast and miles better than Exynos. Plus, it was sold in places with the Exynos S20 series so ppl were choosing that instead.

The SD8G1 is still better than Exynos but seems like the gap isn't as far as back in 2020 (or they just don't care abt it anymore).

Panels sold to other phones have higher Pwm frequency, better calibration, higher contrast and higher colour depth.

S22u aka note 21 u is the worse flagship Samsung has ever put on the market, so many software problems that was not highlighted by this app, ask mkbhd why he didn't use s22 u this year but instead he used s21 ultra!
S23 u will be a big disappointment as well:
                            - no 200w fast charge
                            - no better battery
                            - no better tactic engine
                            - no card support
                            - no 2 tb off storage
                            - not even 16 gb ram like s21u
                            - note even 1 tb off storage like note 21u
                            - still hot while normal tasks

you get 1100 nits of whole display brightness and 1600nits in selected area, even if you disregard that 1600 nits, 1100 is plenty to show Hdr10 which require 1000nits.

also Samsung use 8bit with dithering to display 10bit, do you have any evidence that other display better HDR content apart from marketing Gimmicks?

By use case (not number of sales/usages), samsung isnt a loser at all in the tablet department. Galaxy tab s8 ultra is simply a beast in gaming, multitasking, note taking, office/schook work, etc

Thab s8 ultra.the best android tablet money can buy.
                                      huge amoled 120hz display.
                                      Excellent speakers.
                                      Slim and sturdy build.
                                      Superb s pen features.
                                      Almost perfect.
But wait ,it is nowhere near the apple market share.
                                      It is a looser.
                                      Great logic gsma.

It's stupid to me that a Xiaomi can find chips for its T series, and a Samsung can't for its FE series.
