Not a single OEM will provide updates more than three years during that time so I think Oppo is not at fault here. But yes, nowadays even a Samsung A series can get up to 5 years of updates, other brands need to keep it up.

For so long time we've been hearing about the colour OS 13 yet not seeing it.OPPO is not trying at all. We in African region is not hearing nor seeing any plans concerning the OS 13,when to receive it, it's very discouraging for one to use OPPO in the future.

After purchasing an Oppo Reno 5G a few years ago I would never buy another Oppo phone again. The lack of updates overall in comparison to other manufacturers like Samsung is utterly abysmal.
The very least Oppo could do is offer away to unlock the bootloader thus allowing for custom ROMs if they have no intention of providing any further software development.

Because most UIs are jsut garbage compared to pure clean android which does not cost extra disk space like UIS and extra ram.
Oppo brand sorry for insulting you but at least Oxygen OS is close to stock android Color OS is not even close to that. I really hope its at least better than Samsung UI which is one of heaviest skins phone can get with most of burden things.

Since is aplicable only for flagships its not a much hussle because most people from Indian and Chinese market cant afford anything over 200-300

But as oneplus, i think they just follow oppo approach.. example coloros12.1 still carry the android 12.

And about oppo future plan, just like you said earlier, we just wait and see.. hope they will not follow Xiaomi or realme that prioritize skin version rather than android version.

Key Android components will get updates through Playstore even when OEMs stopped sending updates.

OnePlus has said that oxygenOS 13.1 will be launched in 2023 Q1 and it will remain Android 13.

My question is about that. The BBK brands are starting to update and to announce this skins updates as they were important (as Xiaomi does) so I am wondering if they are planning to consider those updates as a "major update".

You able to speak truths or just chat from your backside? But thanks I'll enjoy my Oppo device that only gets better and better with each update. Its nice to get regular android 13 updates that constantly improve the device, must be still a pixel user which the updates keep breaking everything. Also bloatware? I've had none and anything I didn't want I just un installed, you can uninstall all apps other than some baked in Google rubbish I don't need.

You always give me a laugh, such a 🤡.

Do you realize vast majority of people still rock outdated android devices without any concerns, because their devices work perfectly fine without needing to upgrade as long as their apps work? Was there any recent major hacking outbreak that shook the mobile world of average people? Most hackers don't use target poor/average consumers, they target high tier individuals that posses vulnerable information.

Since you're out of focus how average life works, let me remind you that outdated devices are prone to hacking if the user downloads shady websites and clicks on shady links that can be prevented with many plug-ins and other bypasses.

Even phones with on-going security updates are vulnerable to the DDoSes since hackers can bypass anything, so you're whole point is invalid.
