My top 5 phones of 2022 - Victor

These are the devices that have made an impression on me over the past year.

No mention of the Google pixel 6a which is probably best bang for buck money can buy especially when on offer can pick up £299. Great battery, stella camera, easy use interface, nice size. GSM Arena ratings of iPhone always over hyped. How anyone can still be promoting iPhone SE totally beyond me. Too small for elderly to be able to read the screen. Anyone using for moderate use the battery will run out. Crazy!

The iPhone SE 2022 finally got some love. I just bought a mint condition iPhone X for $125 from OfferUp the other night. If you live in the States, use OfferUp and live in a big city. I live in Orange County, so I get great deals because so many rich people discard their stuff and don't mind letting it go for dirt cheap.

With that said, I still prefer my SE3 over X. Face ID still isn't the most accurate or convenient especially if you wear a baseball cap and glasses. I do enjoy my X. I love the premium feeling it has. Just recently purchased a 4S on eBay. Collecting old iPhones as of late. But SE3 still tops thanks to Touch ID and being the last of its kind.

Pardon the asterisks. It's to have them in bold when I post it on YouTube.

      AHHHHHHHH

Nice a top 5 with a nice midranger included

Do people not under how happy millions of people are with midrangers

So you criticise the A53 for it not having a headphone jack and having a crappy Exynos SOC... But praise the A33 even though it also doesn't have a headphone jack and has the same crappy Exynos SOC and is only like €50 cheaper.

Big brains as always at gsmarena

Huge cam rings ruin the zenfone design.
          Too unnecessary.

this has got to be the best list I've seen so far especially with the hot take of the A53 5G. Kinda wish there was an A53s 5G to recuperate some of the shortcomings of the vanilla A53 but sadly, there isn't.

The A53 is not a bad phone. It's big problem is not the A52S though, in my view. It's problem is the A33G that retails under 300 and offers almost everything the A53 has hahaha

Honestly expected to see xperia 1/5 IV , at least at "honorable mentions" part, since this phones have the unique (by a flagship and upper-midrange class in the last 2 years) features - the headphone jack and a microsd slot. Good camera setup, even the notification LED is here (oh, wow)

I'm glad to see the Asus Zenfone 9 is in the list of top phones of 2022 for 4th time, as an compact flagship owner (S10e). And personally i agree with the comparison about the A53 5G vs A52s 5G, Samsung need to re-check those "price-cuts" in the A and S lines to remain competitive about price vs value ratio...

I completely agree with the take on the iPhone SE. There is nothing wrong with this form factor. Just a little bigger battery and it would be flawless, though the current one should already be an improvement over the last one. It may not be the best value as an overall phone or even iPhone (not regarding money/performance because there it’s the best by a margin). But it‘s unique and very different from any other phone released in 2022, and serves multiple subsets of users that no other iPhone currently sold does (Home Button with Touch ID, LCD, rounded sides, small camera bump that’s flat on a table with the official Apple cases, cheapest point of entry of course, …)
