I don’t know which world you live in but from what I‘ve read, many recommend the MacBook Air M1 over the M2. Reasons are the slower ssd (not a big deal imo), seemingly less efficient M2 chip (at least at max power) and most importantly a higher price. And if you need any more than the base model, its price comes too close to the MacBook Pro . I personally wouldn’t recommend the M1 over the M2 because of the reports of screens cracking for no reason, and I think it’s a good upgrade. But the value is not good and what the 2023 MacBook Air needs the most is a lower price. In 2023 where you can get decent windows laptops for like $700 now, $1200 or €1500 is just too high of an entry point.

iPad as a winner, don‘t know if that‘s right. The iPad Pro with M2 still does not change a thing about the fact that the software heavily lags behind the hardware, and the iPadOS 16 stage manager didn’t receive a lot of positive feedback. The iPad 10 is basically the worst iPad ever and would have completely killed the standard line iPad if they didn’t continue to sell last year‘s model at the same price as before. And to say that is a good thing says a lot about how bad the new one must be then. The iPad Air 5 was probably the only sensible upgrade this year, but it‘s still in a weird spot because of the pricing that incentivizes to upgrade to the iPad Pro. And iPads still bend.
iPad may be in the lead right now, but if Apple continues the direction they headed to with the iPad 10, even if people don’t switch brands, they will rather keep their old devices for longer, much longer in fact.

Please, no! iPadOS is nothing more than a glorified iOS for tablets. I sold my M1 iPad Pro for a Surface Pro 8 and never looked back. The Surface Pro 9 Wi-Fi version may have more powerful 12th gen Intel Core CPU, but I'm still happy with my 11th gen Core i5 version.

I was excited about the "Plus" variant. But Apple launched a "Plus" variant with a year-old spec, not a bare minimum camera upgrade. 🥲 If they had given Pro's Wide and UW cameras, things could have been different. Even iPhone 13 is a much better choice than the 14.
