only if you do non stop project manipulation at mid to heavy load is this true
otherwise, if the faster chip consume more power in 1 hour project but it finalised that project in half of that time, then you have to take that into account and measure to the power outlet the whole SoC. Is more efficient to draw 20W but finish a project in 30 min than draw 15W and finish the same task in 1 hour. Its 101 math
I really hoped here on this site, people grew in the mean time and learn math, science ,law of physics but it seems grown man leave this place and kids are coming in. I will check again in 2 years this site again, who knows

That chart shows the 888 as consuming 9244 joules of energy to produce a score of 4.48. This is a less efficient use of power than the 870 which consumed 7931 joules of energy to produce a score of 3.94.

The 888 produces 0.00048463868 points per joule.
The 870 produces 0.00049678476 points per joule.

From an energy efficiency standpoint, the 870 is more efficient than the 888.

In fact, you're also forgetting the 870 was one of those last ditch efforts to get more performance out of the same chip, as it's just an overclocked version of the 865. Which means it's less efficient than it would normally have been in proper conditions.

And it shows, as the 865 produces 0.000539200961 points per joule.

Maybe you are confusing the terms, as benchmark scores ≠ efficiency. Efficiency is how well you utilize your resources. Or how much performance you can get per unit of energy in this case. And efficiency matters the most because phones are devices that are meant to use minimal amounts of power due to not having the ability to use large batteries and not having the ability to properly dissipate heat from things like the 888 which consume more power and thus produce more heat. If energy efficiency was not a concern we'd be putting i9-13900K's in phones and getting 5 minutes of battery life while giving our hands fourth degree burns.

And thanks for the chart btw, I had no idea where to source one to prove my theory but you just gave me one. 👍
