And I'm stopping here, I'm no trying to convince anyone, as said before. But again, offering the choice to the customer is ... free. Medidate on that.

I don't try to convince anybody, I just don't understand why the maker doesn't leave the choice for the user to opt in for a microsd if they want. They could invoke space but come on, it's mainly for money reason. And last year, the S22 1 Tb wasn't available for 6 weeks due to global shortage of memory. What if it happens again, and again ?

They know majority of S22U users will not upgrade, new Design or not. Very few people have a new phone every year.
This is for S21U or Note20U users who haven't upgraded yet.

The majority of folk that splurge on the biggest, most expensive phone just do it for the sake of having the biggest, most expensive phone. They're sold on the merit that they'll have the best cameras, performance, etc. There is no inherent demand for storage, because everyone sort of accepted built-in storage as their only solution.
People just don't want to worry about filling up their phones with photos and videos they'll never delete or backup, so they pay their way to a solution. Sort of like range anxiety in EVs, just get the biggest battery irrespective of the range, cost or weight detriment.

hot swap data between devices...
besides, if you have gigs of music files and videos...
and photos swap among devices, you do not need to upload everything to the cloud and enjoy your contents...
as for back up, ye, there are a lot of options, like the cloud storage, and even when you do not have an internet connection, there is an option for network attached storage solutions...
not everyone can pay up, though...
i just wonder why makers just put that sdcard slot on their phones and stop the arguments between users of sdcard slots and those who do not acknowledge such need, i mean, those selfish ones, just because they are not benefited by it... :)

No sdcard, no headphone jack and no charger people are the phone version of vegans. We are ok without sdcard, headphone jack, or charger, so you should be ok without it too.
