Anonymous, 14 Jan 2023Do you realize that you can back up data on your phone? That is what I've done for many years now. My phone data is backed up to the cloud with my One Drive. It happens automatically. Much easier than dealing with an SD card. Once I put the case on my Galaxy S phone, the day I receive, I don't remove it until a year later. When I trade it in for a new Galaxy S phone. It would be a pain to have to constantly remove and put back on my Spigen Neo-Hybrid cases, that I always use with my galaxy S phones, to deal with an SD card.

I just hope the Galaxy S23 has Wifi 6E and UWB. Which the Galaxy S22 did not. If not, I will need to seriously consider getting the S23 Plus instead. Even though it is a much, much larger phone than I would prefer.

These colours will suck, I bet they will be exclusive only on Samsung website.

One of the things that the anti-sdcard gang don't get is, it is not we prefer sdcard because it is more reliable than internal storage. Of course internal storage is more reliable, but one mess up on the OS like system update that will make your phone bootloop and the only way to fix is reset, good luck to your data in your internal storage even though it is still intact. Internal storage on phone is not the same on PC where you can create a separate partition for your data. Unlike if you have sdcard, you can atleast recover some files or important stuff. Unless you prefer to do cloud backup most of the time which I'm not a fan of. Still using the same sd card after changing my phone 3 times,.

2025: S Series sales drop to 5 million units per year

GregLu, 14 Jan 2023Exactmly the same experience ? You mean, having a MicroSD c... moreI have an almost 6 yo galaxy s8 with 64gb storage, and a 128gb micro sd in it. I used to have a 2012 16gb micro sd in it with the photos I could've lost when my old phone suddenly died and couldn't get all the internal data from it. That card had like 10mb/s speed, yet my s8 was still skyrocket fast in EVERYTHING besides the SD storage (since is obvious because the card speed was that low).
Now onto the storage part. I don't have many videos filmed in 4k or hundred of thousands of photos in it, yet the internal storage is on red (90% full) despite having ONLY social media apps (not even tiktok lol!) and some old games from 2010's. The sd card is 50% full with documents and some photos and 1080p videos. I literally have 192gb of total storage (internal+sd) and I have more than half of it full!!! And I'm not even a hardcore video capture guy or heavy power user with tons of games, movies, etc. in it!!!!
My mom bought a s21 FE last spring, 128gb version (couldn't afford 256gb, yea, I know, let the poor shamers come in xD) and filmed few videos in 4k 60 frames with HVEC codec (which takes half the storage space). Oh the storage is 3 quarters full already lol!
So, despite being the group category where I wouldn't have minded removal of SD card IF the base storage was higher damnit (we had base 128gb on note 9 in 2018 and 256gb base on note 10 in 2019 goddamnit!!!), I feel you mate. Transfering large files on a computer takes AGES, despite internal phone's stoarge high speed and SSDs being present. Where a simple pop out of SD card into another device takes LITERALLY SECONDS!!!
But since there are people who defend the removal of chargers from the box, while using older chargers (those below 15watts) barely charges these "new" phones in decent times, what can we say about removal of SD card and jack anymore?
The only thing we can do is to not buy, I'll skip this year as well.

Bad colours except for black... it's like they look cheap and dry? Idk how to explain it

Again, it's not UFS and that's normal since it's not the same tech, I don't understand this non sense about faulty microSD card. We aren't in 2005-2010 people, even there, there was really good MicroSD ... But not cheap. And cheap meant knockoff at the time 😅 (Whatever the brand, Samsung, Sandisk, Kingston and so on)

It's not like 2010 when the write speed were close to 15 Mb/s at best. 😅

The Galaxy S23+ looks like Iphone XR

You mean, having a MicroSD card that I can pop out to put on a drone for example, or use as a USB stick ? And if the S23U drop dead witbhout any save, huh ? Yeah, I though so. Don't care about the 1Tb, but I can have 512 as a base on my Note 10+ (My S22u is a 512 version since 1 Tb wasn't availabe upon launch) and guess what ? Whatever I'll like with a MicroSD with a simple swap that take 10 sec. So much hassle, yeah.
