Apple acknowledges iPhone 14 Pro display bug, to fix with a software update

Ma... moreI do mostly tend to stick to Apple article’s yes, and that is where I see you mostly questioning those that offer what you perceive as defence of them, never the other way round though. I don’t usually bother with articles regarding most other manufactures as I do not use their products, so do not feel I have anything relevant to add to a conversation.

        This unlike that duck dude, who for such a die hard Samsung fanboy seems to spend an awful lot of his time posting barbs about Apple and it’s products, mostly getting his facts wrong in the process. His post about Apple messing up ‘Samsungs brightness specifications’ on a iPhone display being a good example of this. Apple’s display division design iPhone displays to their own required specifications, Samsung are merely the oem who then manufacture the component. iPhone displays are not off the shelf Samsung parts, and Samsung have no say over the specifications.

        And I am quite willing to offer criticism of Apple when I feel it due. Which I do not feel it is in this case, as I have said this is a very minor bug in the grand scheme of things, affecting a small percentage of a specific iPhone model line, and even then not affecting general usability or causing a hazard to anyone’s health. And one which has already been acknowledged, with a fix on the way.

Maybe you only read Apple articles (that's fine), so you don't know that I also criticize non-Apple products. Regarding neutrality, being neutral means that you criticize/praise people/products/companies/etc regardless of your personal preferences. Neutral people may like Google as a company, for example, but they won't hesitate to criticize bad Google products/practices. Neural in this case doesn't mean that feeling neutral. It means unbiased/impartial.

Yeah your take on neutrality comes through loud and clear there pal. 🤦‍♂️ like I said had I chimed in seething about this, claiming it to be the worst thing ever and calling Apple every slur under the son, I highly doubt you and I would be speaking right now.

                      I am down playing it, this is a very minor in the grand scheme of things. Though seeing as it’s Apple, obviously a mountain is being made out of a mole hill. Bugs aren’t good of course, that they are acknowledged and fixed though is. And seeing as I put up with such issues on pretty much every ‘smart’ gadget I own (often with far worse support than Apple offer) then I am willing to do so in my iPhone as well, after all the good far outweighs the bad.

                        It is a normal defect for the money you paid on the phone to Apple. If you can afford a fair price, double maybe, you may get half defects.

They deserve criticism. It's weird when a product have a bug/defect, and you say that bugs happen. Of course, they happen, but I don't see the purpose behind saying that other than trying to defend the product or downplay the issue. That's not a common response from neutral people. Saying that a bug is a minor bug is a different matter, but that was not what you said.

It’s been acknowledged and a fix has been promised. It’s a simple, very minor bug.

                            Let me ask you a question, had I commented that this was awful, unforgivable and a testament to the crumminess of Apple, would I now have to be explaining myself to you about it?

                            Somehow, I highly doubt it.

I don't see why you feel the need to defend Apple (or any company) by saying that bugs can occur.

Hardware and software on modern smartphones is massively complex, an increasing likelihood of errors goes hand in hand with that complexity.

                                        For its part iOS is far more of a feature packed and busy os than it ever was back in the day, so yes more bugs are to be expected, but they are also addressed. And modern versions of iOS are far from the mess that certain people on this site like to make it out as. I personally cannot recreate 90% percent of the bugs reported, this one included.
