Well I still use Fold 1 until now and working good and tried several times to upgrade to Fold 4 but no spectacular change to pay a lot of money for similar mobile, I would suggest an automatic opening of the fold thru side push button to open it and close it instead of manually

for people who are yelling at plastic screens FYI there's a thin layer of glass on top of plastic .... like your teachers would always say "please do your homework" ; if you can't justify the cost for it , then you can't justify it.

It's not samsungs fault you're incompetent. Anyone with 1 braincell knows that a phone that somewhat costs near $2000 has to be looked after. Its not the $50 Nokia brick you can throw around😅🤣.

I am intrigued if you would buy it if it happened to be an apple fold 👀🤔🙄

Anonymous, 17 Jan 2023Samsung fanboy, sorry to burst your bubble but Huawei was t... moreNo, Motorola brought us the 1st teardrop hinge. They used the hinge from the Lenovo yoga book. The patent does not matter because the approach is similar. They all fold the screen away from the middle. Huawei could have easily gotten their inspiration from Motorola. Also, Huawei's 1st fold was an outward folding device.

The hinge design Samsung is reportedly using has a patent dating back to 2016. Speculation is they were figuring out a way to make it water resistant.

$2000 for a plastic screen that gets scratched by keys or random lint and pebbles in your jeans. What a joke, regardless of the crease.

crease is not looking good but, this is not the most important problem of a folding/flipping phone. nail scratch resistance, hinge durability and folding/flipping gap are top issues. these have to be fixed.

folding display is a new tech and it is not durable upto 400.000 folds/flips as advertised. there are many screen problems after even a few months of normal use. samsung repairs them free of charge within warranty period but,if it breaks in a few months, it can break after 1-2 years after warranty expires. people don't want to gamble on a fragile device with $1000-1800.

these durability concerns are not exclusive to samsung devices. so,samsung should stand out with some solutions in the upcoming competition.

I toyed around with the Fold 4 and the Flip 4 in the showroom. Gorgeous design and quality, but there are many drawbacks that are still strong in convincing me not to buy one:
                              - the inside display is TOO FRAGILE ! The crease is invisible when the display is on, so I don't care about the crease that much. The durability though....
                              - extremely annoying aspect ratio of the inside display
                              - no SD card slot
                              - no 3.5mm jack
                              - no stylus
                              - just put one good camera on the back and you'll have plenty of space for the missing features and maybe even bigger battery capacity
                              - the gap on the inside when closed is quite irritating
