Nokia C12 launches with Android 12 Go Edition, 6.3" display

The budget phone has 2GB of RAM and an option for 2GB more of virtual RAM. HMD promises 2 years of quarterly security patches.

    Sin, 18 Jan 2023Ok I say what's on my mind Galaxy A03, Looks fairl... moreThe super low end is a tricky market to find decent phones, wouldn't it be just avoid low end exynos chips and A and P series mediatek chips and try find a phone decent dimensity or 480/680 SD if possible? I'd honestly just go with a flagship from a few years go or a year old refurbished mid ranger.

    Android isn't ram hungry if it can run off 1gb of ram (this apple user belief to try and rate android phones down) android just isn't strict on what it leaves in ram (which helps load apps quicker or load Web pages quicker etc, far faster storage than ufs or Sata SSD's). It just leaves it all in ram reserves in case you're going to use the app/process again and it will for days/till you use up all you're ram then will dump the last/oldest unused data for the new app/process. Basically if you have 8gb of ram and still have 2-3gb left then you've got room for more apps and processes to be used (basically use up all your ram, it's not apple or Windows and doesn't work the same, someone might be able to explain it better and how exactly it works but basically it's not the same as other systems so don't believe the ram hungry rubbish).

          Weak phone with useless boring ugly system. Not worth at all. Avoid weak phones. Buy later buy better. Save and buy later a midranger instead.

            If only the processor is like a G70 i'd dig this. The design is quite nice; no unnecessary camera holes for auxilliary sensors.

Sd 680 is good at that price point and it has ufs storage which all lowend lacks, faster storage will help even if phone has bloatware.also you can install launcher and disable amything you dont want it has enough storage. Currently is £99 carphone warehouse.

              Redmi 9 is old stock i mentioned it as backup incase you dont get 10C, has Helio G80 and 1080p display which is decent.

              Samsung A03 is £103 at Amazon, remember its A03 and not A03s or A03 core same to G11 is around that price.

              Remember these phones are 2 to 3 times faster than your usual phone at this price point, few software updates they will still be faster than cortex A53 phones at stock without any bloatware.



                Wish Nokia would make a "proper" flagship again. I had the Nokia 8 when it was brand new and it was a great alternative to a Galaxy S at the time.

                    Looks fairly reasonable but price will be too high
                    I think if I remember correctly it's not best spec
                    Samsung OneUI is rather heavy os and likely update too much

                    Nokia G11,
                    Can be found cheap
                    I won't trust the Nokia g11 the Nokia phones run into a problem where they get so many os upgrades it slows them down too much

                    Redmi 9, this smartphone kinda expensive at least based on UK pricing
                    Not great spec either

                    Redmi 10C I think the same price problems
                    Not great spec either

                    The redmi phone also have a lot of blootware

                    etc

                    Android can be very ram hungry os in general so ram amount really important

                    The umidigi does have better screen bigger battery
                    Durable stock Android just overall best package I think

                    More stable os just in general umidigi reliable often generic or unknown brand don't have the brand name tax

                      The unisoc processor have problems with battery life way too power hungry making them bad and incompatibility problems with them with apps / games is a problem

                      Am aware benchmarks score are high on unisoc tiger but unisoc processor in general don't perform well in real would usage

                      The mediatek g25 is a older processor it's not much good yeah but is not bad either

                      We looking at budget smartphones although
                      So trying squeeze in a actually good processor is difficult

                        Sin, 18 Jan 2023The unisoc Its Cortex A75 soc, single core its 2 to 3 times faster than those Cortex A53 in Lowend soc and you get fairly good gpu in Mali G52 or G57 which atleast can handle day to day task.

                          Btw this just slightly slightly better than nokia 5, the phone I had, that was released back in 2017 and was 30€ more expensive. So in 5 and a half years, after all of the improvements in technology, Nokia has this to offer in their budget range. I can't wait for this company to shut down once and for all

                                  The main problem with this phone is battery size 3000mah and 28m unison processor

                                  Nokia phones are well optimized for battery life often at the cost of performance at least there using vertual ram too make up for the hardware short comings

                                  but Nokia done themselves no favour here at all with this combined also this smartphone bigger screen size will also mean more battery is life gets drilled faster

                                      That's also strong hardware specs for £98
                                      The hole punch screens I dislike but it's a lot of smartphone for the money as well
