Anonymous, 19 Jan 2023Oneplus is oppo. Available in USA. Honor & Xiaomi are not available at all unless imported from China. Only some of these have the correct bands for the USA. Even less will be allowed on most networks in the USA. I know OnePlus and Oppo are the same company, but that is not the same as having all Oppo phones available in the USA. Oneplus releases only 2-4 phones a year, how many does Oppo release 10 - 15?

      YUKI93, 21 Jan 2023Exynos SoC in S9 and S10 series are also a great performer.... moreThey did decent enough but went from overall outperforming snapdragon to constantly struggling to be as powerful or efficient. Essentially switched rolls.
      The S9 on is where they switched to in house designed large custom cores. And of course besides the obvious and expected early downfalls of such a feat they also chased benchmark scores. As well as didn't optimize it as best they could.
      Not to say they performed terribly compared to again what's expected from that shift.
      And a lot of the issues probably also came from office suites with time and number demands.

      What made the gap worse was that was also right after Qualcomm had been a couple years into starting to take things much more seriously after the 810 fiasco.
      They realized they needed to quit playing around and really work on sustainable and efficient power. Made a huge shift in focus.
      So by time the S9s came out and samsung was all of a sudden going completely backwards from the well oiled formula of usual and poorly so you had Qualcomm a couple generations into making much more polished and mature improvements in efficiency and power.

      I miss the wolfson or cirus logic dac too. Giving them the audio edge as well usually.
      The lack of quality, care, optimizing, envelope pushing, or anything that any of them do at this point is truly sad.
      And it's scary because this type of shift reflects our society as a whole not just phones.

          It's not any different than the pricing with the S22 and S21 series.

            From the s1-s8 the exynos used to be superior usually in efficiency, cpu, and audio. Sometimes even gpu.

The s10 having it and the note 10 removing it in the middle of the same year and generation was a dirtier tactic then when Apple removed it.

                  8 Gb of ram in 2023 for a high end lineup!?

                  They should all start with 12Gb Ram as a bare minimum.

                  Samsung in the last couple of years increased prices while reducing quality.
                  My note 10 plus from 2019 has 12gb of ram, 256Gb memory + SD card. The only thing I don't like it's the camera, was looking forward to the S23 reveal, now I'm super disappointed and will probably stick to my note for another year.

I found the exynos got super hot super fast and battery drain was crazy. I got the S20FE replaced because it got so warm, I thought it to be a defective unit. Even the replaced unit got hot.

                            Let me guess. No charger inside to protect the environment. Gotta get money from somewhere for bonuses for C-level "employees"

                                    Reasons why I am upgrading to S23 Ultra :

                                    Hoping for better battery backup.
                                    Excited to use the 200MP camera by Samsung.

                                    And ofcourse, I always upgrade to new samsung flagship model every year.
                                    I was a hardcore Note series user. Since Note series is not available, settling down with Ultra S series.
