JIO has been offering a free, unlimited 5G trial for the past 3–4 weeks. On my Mi11T Pro phone, I got 400–500 mbps 5G speed (checked on fast.com) on the full network in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. You can get 100 mbps download even on a single-bar network. I am working as an executive producer, and these download speeds are pretty addictive for someone in the video production business. One drawback I've noticed is a few call drops within my office building. Whenever I go towards the elevator area, it switches to LTE+ and the call just drops.

As far as the data download is concerned, the 4G network of Airtel/Jio/Vodafone feels superslow when compared to even a decent broadband. To download a 15MB PDF, it feels it's taking forever.

Anonymous, 22 Jan 2023Oh yes Jio did that for the people. When will people understand?Well people worked on it for years in man-hours, they don't get any credits, they do it for free trade. I assure ya their main man uses Airtel as main line. non the less, 5G gives a faster data link(faster serial ATA) but is inferior in terms of Number of connections(no physical antenna needed on PCBs), least in India. So nobody have to understand anything. We are just walking our own paths, its not a fervor they are doing or otherwise.

Eveyrone here talking about low prices in india. But my experience is that these are too slow. 4G tops out at around 25Mbps if you are lucky, its usually around 12 Mbps. If you are in a very crowded area like indian colleges or malls thats the speed you get. 5G after people adopting to it gives around 400Mbps in these areas but while using 5G SA(Jio) the phone cant recieve calls. It needs to switch back to 4G and this switching takes around 5 seconds. On airtel this issue isnt there but since the tower itself is shared with 4G, the speeds you get from 5G in these populated areas is sometimes slower than 4G.

For example if we want to download something 5GB file then we cant download that in a single day as the data is capped

So its not a great deal

In Sri Lanka 4g speeds barely reach 1MBs. Airtel offers a 1GB a day unlimited calls for any network. They make sure we don't use the 1GB daily data and calls to other networks are always busy.
