Next year's Galaxy S24 series could have exclusive Snapdragon 8 chipsets as well

24 January 2023
The S23 generation is coming with special "Snapdragon for Galaxy" chipsets and Samsung will allegedly keep using such chips until its in-house chip is ready.

Wow we haven't started complaining about S23 and we have info on S24

Anonymous, 24 Jan 2023Exynos is miles worse. Dragon is the king. What's the point when they decided to charge 100€ more because of their infinite greed. At this point I'd just have Exynos, because Snapdragon sure as hell isn't 100€ better than equivalent Exynos.

Which is pointless considering the price increase. What's the point of Snapdragon versions when they jack up the price across the board. They literally made S23 models interesting and also not interesting at the same time. Snapdragon is ya, but they increased price so much I hope it'll also flop so bad it'll hurt them for few years. Greedy a**holes.

Custom snapdragon will be nothing more and nothing less than a inferior exynos disguised as a snapdragon.
Samsung hope you plan to pay royalty for another fake advertising.

Anonymous, 24 Jan 2023bro NOBODY cares about higher clock speeds that just scream... moreI can't speak for the samsung varient of the SD 8 Gen 2 specifically, however the regular SD 8 Gen 2 which slightly lower core clocks is more efficient in recently released benchmarks. It shows the snapdragon beating the A16 in GPU performance while using slightly less energy as well as in cpu performance. The performance is a small but noticable margin faster than A16 and using a small amount of power less. So as far as the regular version goes, it will be ripping fast while having amazing battery life. So while samsung doesn't have a good reputation for cool and fast chips I think that this time around, a small clock speed increases from the norm varient at 3.2ghz up to 3.36ghz is not going to affect power draw that much. Its 160mhz boost which all things considered is probably not even going to boost performance all that much.

Seeing they used mediatek chips in some of their A series devices is pretty telling. The butchered the S22 fabrication and perhaps realized it's better for their image to have a better fab working on chips than trying to save money on an inhouse chip.

well will think about this in 2024
