Motorola Moto G73 and G53 unveiled with 5G, 120Hz displays and 50MP cameras

The G72 and G52 were both 4G-only phones. The new models use Helio and Snapdragon chips for next-gen connectivity.

                  g72 is barely few months old,why lenovo is pushing a successor so early,it doesn't make sense buying their phones anyway because are too many and overpriced at launch

                    Oki, 24 Jan 2023G53 has 720p display? That's a big miss for a 250€ pho... more480+ HD 120Hz literally is the best combination for smooth experience and strong battery life (also gaming)

                    Trust me, my Moto G50 which has pretty the same hardware of G53, runs any game without esitation, and it last 2 days with 14+ hours ok screen, and this is all thanks to the HD display. G52 perform much much worse, in terms of speed and also battery 😏

                      Except the main camera, it is inferior compared to G62.

                          I don't mind the switch to IPS LCD (especially if the OLED that they'll use will be of the weak types anyway) but the downgrade to 720p is a deal breaker for me. While I absolutely don't have a need for anything more than 1080p, going back to 720p just feels so 2018 to me, considering that even today's Snapdragon 400-series SoCs can easily handle 1080p 120Hz displays very well, and at screen sizes greater than 6", the difference in resolution gets more apparent. At they very least, they could've just made both models with the same 1080p 120Hz display, considering that most mid-rangers since 2020 have already upgraded to a minimum of 1080p resolution.

                            No 4K video recording for the Moto G73?? Hard pass then

                                      Why is no one understanding that this is 5g phone rather than 4G like the previous generation. And 5G costs money. So some cuts are to be made.

                                        G53 has 720p display? That's a big miss for a 250€ phone. SD 480+ is not a bad processor, much better than 680 that is usually found in this price segment. Don't let the naming fool you. Everything else seems fine, but 720p will be a deal breaker for many.

                                        I'm glad g73 has lcd, a lot of people are sensitive to amoled and these days you can't have good phones without it so it's nice to see there are still good phones with lcd👍
