Flashback: the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite punched above its weight

28 January 2023
This "lite" phone had the fastest charging speed of any Galaxy S phone, at least for a month. And it had a Snapdragon chip in regions that normally got Exynos.

I'm still using this one, n i seem to like it more n more day by day 😋😋😋

Hopefully Samsung continues this Lite (now FE) series. If Samsung cancelled the A74, the gap between the A54 and the base S23 will be quite huge (base S series usually doubles the price of the A5x series).

Anonymous, 29 Jan 2023It looked similar to S20 seriesYe and like Note 20 series and many A, M and S series. It was first unique by Samsung rest looked like same garbage because samsung is lacking of good design team.

dbjungle, 29 Jan 2023I always thought the Note 10 Lite was the more interesting ... moreHaha the S-Pen for a short text most people will n ot draw their pen but use hands same for short work.
On ne hand S-Pen is great and very poular on other hands tossing it in and out many times aday eats like 4-5 hours of life in a year .

S10 lite looks like any other samsung past 4 years.
Same camera island on every A series, M series and S series.
Even note 20 looks simmilar with same square on top corner.
            Looks ugly.

Orbiter, 28 Jan 2023Fast forward three years and Samsung is still stuck on 45w ... moreWhich as been proven by GSMArena team is 45W only on paper in real life experience and tests by GSMArena team it was baerly 18-20W for few seconds.
No of their phones ever reached 45W charging speeds with any kind of charger or at any possible condition it always was up to 20W.
Laughable 20W for a 5000+ mAh battery is dissaster and is disgusting,
Some phones with 200+W chargeging barely gets heated when battery reaches 100% in 5-7 minutes. In case of samsung battery getting hot for several hours uuntil we plug off phone from charging. Especialy in case of people who charge their phones overnight.

dbjungle, 29 Jan 2023I always thought the Note 10 Lite was the more interesting ... moreI'm literally typing this comment from my Note 10 Lite, which is still going strong and still as smooth as the day I bought it - heck even the battery life, though obviously degraded at this point, is STILL better than my A series phones.

[CORRECTION] Note 10 Plus definitely came out before S10 Lite, and this Note 10 Plus that I'm typing this comment on has 45W charging. So, how exactly is the S10 Lite the first Samsung phone capable of charging that fast? Or am I missing something?

                      |EDIT] I just peeked at Note 10+'s specs page here, and it confirmed it.

it's like Mi lite or Poco F series what's special?

Little did we know how surprisingly good it was during that time. Let's see what 2023 will bring.

Commenting from my s10 lite.. this is the best Samsung ever made.. i never used any phone more than two years but this is one is hard to let it go.. waiting for s23 ultra

I always thought the Note 10 Lite was the more interesting of the 2. The S-Pen was a Note only feature so that at a more reasonable price point was pretty cool.

It's funny to read words like "back then" about something that happened two seconds ago :D

Writing this on s10 lite and the phone is still as good as the day I got it, with a slightly shorter battery ofc. No glitches or stutters, despite the 60hz screen. SD855 aged well.
