I really appreciate it when brands add additional information on the specific spec sheet like information on what type of storage and ram there using in detail
On top of that it's best show the software OS in detail and explain how it works as it's helpful for the customer too know everything about the device before they choose either too buy it or not

Showing how a smartphone work's and explaining is best as it makes it clear if it's good for someone's use case or not or any problem's they might have before hand and avoid problems with seller's

Look at the app stores see what are most commonly used apps try get them work best they can regardless of price range the goal is sample really compatibility with apps first then performance second

In general hardware performance in storage and ram is more important than the chipset from my testing so better focus on ram & storage first less so on the processor but keep it in mind it's important yes just not too priority

Hopefully china will get there own home grown processor working as everyone using TSMC limits the technology with core's bring disabled along software paywalls from the US agreements that limits everything just too many handlecap put in place artificially for money too make your Smartphone age quicker even going as far too use OS updates for security which isn't strictly necessary as third party anti virus does exist like for example Kaspersky or 360 total security along others that can be paid for

Plus most manufacturer have there own security in one way or another it needs be explaining how it works as most people just don't understand or know who too just when it comes down too cyber security and compatibility problems are often the most common reason that something goes wrong

Hopefully third party opinion for soc happen as the monopoly on manufacturing does keep pricing unreasonable high on top of Google being unreasonable in the way they slow phones down and handlecap any alternative app store too them on Android
What is needed is opinions customer choice over there hardware soc ram & storage & software OS & apps from the sellers

Sin, 30 Jan 2023It's really expensive and costly this is the reason ch... moreThe hotwav note 12 from AliExpress is the perfect example of this

The hotwav cyber 9 pro I have personally tested but am sure the other one is good

Pricing changes but when on sale £99 it's unbeatable value for money unbelievable deal even by next year's standard's unless a huge breakthrough is made in performance

Octa-core unisoc t606 which is just good enough silicon with 128gb rom & 8gb ram this is a soild smartphone in spec's software good also for performance on the hotwav phone the OS is bare and just have gaming mode for additional performance plus mediatek deraspeed that makes a smartphone punch well and truly above it's weight brute force optimization and increased responsiveness just unnaturally good

Yeah I know Chinese unisoc isn't the best although if it's given increased ram & storage it should work really well for example hotwav really adds suitable ram & storage

I think it's best just max out the supposed ran & storage per the chip modal for maximum value for the customer
    Plus big battery

In general my advice is look around for brands and do research as often the best deals come from unknown brand's

I can't understand why some people are stating that this is a good or awesome news, japan and netherlands are not joining chip restrictions on china, but they are being forced to join the US. Remember that the netherlands rejected the US at first but was forced after some strange lobbying. The US is trying to save its hegemony in a short term basis, but just like the CEO of ASML said, China will be forced to develop the components they need without relying on western tech.

To me, the market is much poorer since Huawei phones were kicked out of the US/Canada. The choice on Android was reduced to Google and Samsung, all providers offer only them, previously you could also buy Huawei, and because of some global gaming companies today we have no choice, 2 Android companies and Apple. Despair! And all because of supposed "democracy" and "security", but people here swallow that story.

The last time I bought a P20 Pro was 5 years ago, after that an S21 and now I have a Pichel 6 Pro, time is something new, but I wouldn't buy either Samsung or Pixel, and they force me to those two brands.

Nuget, 30 Jan 2023The point is that the CEO at ASML says that the Chinese wil... moreThe Chinese aren't dumb and didn't just stand by while US goes all over the world taking down governments, sometimes even functioning ones, and plant the "seeds of democracy" in them.
Little do Chinese haters here know that China has already beaten US in some aspects but the still wallow in CNN's and Fox News kool-aide.

The point is that the CEO at ASML says that the Chinese will manage to create that technology for some time and that they won't even need ASLM and Nikon. And since after all the Chinese make cheaper things, the Dutch and Japanese will lose their market in the West as well. Of course, because the American government forced them to do so for the sake of their political interests, which may then be different. It's crazy to me to try to maintain an advantage in the market by blocking someone else, it never achieves a long-term goal. The Chinese are forced to make progress themselves, which is the only right way for them, that's why they produce +1.5 million engineers a year or more than the entire West. They can only be born if the West works more and better, and not with blockades.

I love tech (so much so I am now trying to get into the field), but I just don't see how mankind stands to benefit from AI in the long run. Sure people know the dangers of manipulating the technology for their agenda?

In the modern world, information means power. And with AI mimicking human behaviors and doing a dang convincing job at it, what's preventing them from being misused for mass brainwashing (I see a ton of fake social media/youtube accounts ran by AI)? Taking people's jobs to further reduce cost cause they're reaching the stage of being advanced artists and knowing how to operate companies more efficiently? They can only be a tool to make the rich richer, and the poor poorer... eventually eliminating the middle class.

But if the Chinese can get up and running and mess produce huge number of crappy chips really cheaply is the main question

The Chinese will probably just dominate the market low pricing will just be overwhelming and way too competitive in the market

The usa can't produce chips at a reasonable price there much more advanced and better but they won't stand a chance just because huge price gab

China's population is bigger than the EU, US, and Japan combined. Chinese companies can survive selling to their own market.

I'm ok with previous gen tech as long as the rest of the phone is all good.

My current phone has a 16nm chip. I read somewhere that they can make 7nm chips in China now. That's a big upgrade from 16nm.

I'm happy to support free trade companies. If ASML gets some competition that will be better for all other foundries as well, and lower prices for us.

It seems that today's age all phone go down mainstream. A majority are 6.67in. A majority have no mem card, headphone jack. A majority are 20:9. Most phones are thick 8-9 mm. It will be nice to see a competing market evolve that isn't bound to all of these trends.

It is not surprising. Knowing that the past 3 years have been really a disaster to mankind. Until now we still don't hold the people involved accountable, hopefully this is the first step.

As a consumer, I hate all these barriers to free trade. In the end, only corporations benefit from these. Look at Nvidia GPU prices, we can expect that in the future if we try to stop competition.
