How's that a letdown? UK/USA are getting the FASTER processor. Remember, the Octa is 1.6 per core of four and can't use the other four at the same time, the octa's max speed/threads at any given time would be 1.6GHz x4. As opposed to the Snapdragon @ 1.9GHz x4, that's amazing news (from someone residing in the UK lol). \o/

Epic fail, I was already preparing to pre-order it, and boom s600, you got to be jocking, nobody cares in uk about 4G, its totally overpriced, and where is no competition for EE to keep the price down, big disappointment, If possible I will get exynos version, cause everybody knows its way more better than s600, or probably will get nexus 5 which should be the king of androids, lets hope google make it sure to not disappoint with specs, cause the price all we know will be unbeatable :)

AnonD-44548, 20 Mar 2013Snapdragon 600 is faster than new exynos. Thats good news. ... moreYou are dead wrong
Cortex A15 is much faster and also has a better GPU
Who cares about 4g rather have a much faster CPU and GPU

Android Man , 20 Mar 2013oh what a stupid idea. as usual uk gets shafted the rest of... morethere will actually be quite a few of the larger countries that will miss out, any major carrier with 4G will likely not get the Octa core version, i think its because of issues regarding the processors and the LTE chip inside or something, i could be wrong here, but i think that's what i heard, however the snapdragon version is 4X1.9Ghz, so more powerful, instead of the octa core 4X1.6Ghz + 4X1.2Ghz, so more efficient, for the battery, even with 8 cores it will NOT use them at once so this more of a selling point, a lot of people assume bigger or more is better, not totally, however i will wait testing and comparisons before choosing which model,

Thanks gsmarena for finally speculating that LTE is the reason for different suppliers.
Next question for you: why does Exynos not include LTE? is it because of patents?

More disappoint from the S4. I wasn't happy with the lack of innovations as well as the load of useless features, most of which I will never use, but I was willing to live with this. The processor however is the last straw, I'm probably not going to get this worthless phone now!

I live in Malta and there are no carriers with LTE support yet so hopefully it will be the Exynos 5. If it's the Snapdragon then i'll buy it from Amazon Germany, They ship to all European countries and usually cheaper.

i will hold out for this before making a choice, i was hoping for LTE support , but it does offer ultrafast in the uk which is with three, and their average speed on ultrafast is around 8-10MB which is way faster then my current 3g signal where i am, i get around 1.6mb based on speedtest, my flatmate has the s3 ultrafast and its so much faster at browsing, but time will tell.

its a shame that the UK version will house the snapdragon 600 chipset (its still a very good chipset) because i was looking forward to see the improvement in battery life that the octa-core chipset would have given....this coming from an openly biased HTC-Android fanboy...i think the S4 is still going to be one hell of a device though!
what do you think? i want to know about what others in my industry think about this choice by samsung (i work for EE in the UK)

Just having 4cores with the snapdragon would still manage most tasks anyway.

yan, 20 Mar 2013i highly doubt that it will "destroy" the sd600. ... moreAgreed! I don't think it will make much difference in benchmark stats, but in terms of sounding cool the snapdragon is definitely the lesser party. Maybe this is why they went with the 600 and not 800 for the regions getting a snapdragon processor, like you say why make 2 versions of the same phone with a massive difference in spec.
Cant deny im not a bit burnt by it though.
