Its shocking how their sales are still increasing after all of the garbage they've been pulling. Especially with everything they've taken away, the numbers they use as a selling point that don't at all improve the user experience (sometimes even make it worse) and their absolutely atrocious customer support. these reasons are why I switched to a pixel, and are the reasons why I'm urging my family & friends to do the same as they're experiencing the same issues.

Daemon Targaryen, 31 Jan 2023I'm aware so many people on this site trash Samsung an... moreI concur.
As a whole, Samsung failing is one of the worst things that could happen to Android.
However, if you've been following Samsung, you'll see a drop in year-on-year growth rates. They peaked in 2018, with respects to their mobile division, and have been trying to make up for it ever since. Likely one of the key reasons they began trying to grow new revenue streams (e.g., Foldables) and omitting notable features.
In the coming years, before 2027, you'll likely see them fall into the bottom five of mobile manufacturers. India and Chinese brands were originally happy with their table scraps. Now they want the whole damn table.

I'm aware so many people on this site trash Samsung and Apple. They call Samsung: Scamsung or whatever. But I'm actually rooting for Samsung to succeed mainly because I believe they're still the best Android OEM with the best ecosystem.
I would look at the Chinese OEMs and what always holds them back is software. I just prefer One UI over MIUI or any other Chinese skin/spyware. I hear awful experiences with ColorOS. This is why I probably would choose a Z Fold over an Oppo Find N even though I prefer the latter's form factor. I know the software experience will be much worse on the Oppo.
Samsung has got the ecosystem on lock. Chinese OEMs don't software support as long. If it breaks, you're pretty much stuck with it or won't find many reputable third-party repair shops to fix it. The only alternative for me here in the USA would be Pixels but I hate Tensor, terrible resale value, and there are always some random hardware issue.
I could be staying with Samsung for a very long time if I want the best Android experience in both software, hardware, and aftermarket experience. Pixels don't have a feature that stops charging at 85%. One UI has many more solid all-around features than if Android was closer to stock. Add Samsung's better expertise in hardware.

Considering Samsung cancels the A74, there will be a huge gap between the A54 and the base S23 without an S22 FE. So I'm still hoping it will be made.

potato4k, 31 Jan 2023Majority of people in western markets don't pay phones... moreIndeed. And not only that, some countries have carriers with ridiculous promos and discounts. For example, my Z Fold 4 was sold for virtually half the SRP during the pre-order fortnight. And that's without trade-in discounts too.
