Not sure why all these trolls are on the Sony site! Go away please but if you are still hanging around. This is brilliant, Sony hears about a problem fixes it. S3 has an issue with cracks in the faux metal looking plastic and fails to acknowledge or own the problem. I know which company I would prefer to roll with and its name does not end with a G.

too bad such news wasnt posted when the Galaxy S II started to have this issue; cause i wouldnt have bought one. ive sent it to warranty and they changed the PCB and still the problem persists. and they do not want to change my devive. i am starting to dislike samsung

Overheating might be another potential problem in Xperia Z because the whole body is totally sealed for water proof . The heat is always trapped within the glass body.

Just a note, i misread this article but also found the solution:
I just thought the battery had died so i went to charge my phone, i thought my socket was faulty (past problems) so i tried other sockets but found the same problem..
I also had spare plugs and spare usb cables which i mixed and matched only to find nothing.
finally i connected to my pc and my pc did not connect to the phone at all
BUT
i held down the volume UP button AND the power button for a few seconds then my phone vibrated once and started up.
It connected to internal and external memory after the phone turned on and displayed a notification in the notification bar, its been over 2 hours and it seems all is fine, i will edit this if anything changed!

Isn't this a cheap blackmail designed to give way for S4 to rob the market share of experia z? I bought my experia z almost a month ago i haven't experienced anything of this story. I think sony should react rather than mere acknowledgement.

Xperia z back pannel browken due to overheated or any thing else due charging phone is heated too much when use continiously i saw it and found browken not fallen or any thing else i do i found that it was due to overheating dur whilr charging in sunlight

If i... moreDon't get me wrong I'm talking about the average Joe here people like me, we cover our phones in case of drops, and our kid seem to play with our phones more than adults so yeah I think people do genuinely cover there phones. AlsoI always research anything I buy thats tech and I've veen due an u grade for month's and I've been waiting for htc, Samsung, Nokia ect.. To see whats new and I do not wanna flash my phone as I just dont have the time as when I buy anything I want as little inconvenience as possible. Also the last straw for me and Sony was when I brought my new Sony amp and I plugged my arc into it and it said unrecognized devive yet my partner plugged her iPhone into it and boom it all came up on the tv and u could control it with the remote! Gutted or what lol

Putting a case on your phone is a Complete Nonsense. Not removing the protective layers etc. even bigger nonsense. What is the use of phone's design and feel, if you put some kind of cheap and crappy case over it?! Omg.
However, i can understand why sammy galaxy owners use it, the design and materials of this phone sucks big time, so they better hide it.

I used Galaxy 5, LG Optimus One, Nokia E5, Galaxy S LCD, Xperia mini pro, Xperia Neo V, Xperia Sola, Galaxy S2 and Now having Galaxy Note 2.
Among them the most sturdy phone is Nokia E5. By mistake It fall on the road and a car passed on it. I spend 500 Rupees and it was fine.
and the worst phone is Xperia Sola. believe me it never fall from my hands but within 20 days the touch screen could not sense at the notification bar. how to live with the android without dropping down the notification bar.
After reading most of the posts I can say that please Do not show your love with these companies(manufacturer). They are doing just business.
Rather please give your opinion about the phone you are using. It will be useful to all.
And If Sony wants to be in Business, this sudden death issue will be resolved soon.

Point 1- S4 is not a true octa core. If it had been, I would have never made a statement. It is still a quad core only. It will not use more than 4 cores at any given time. the other 4 cores will be used only when doinf smaller or light tasks and during that time, other 4 cores will shut down. Only advantahe for this would be battery saving and little bit more performance as compared to s3. If you are a developer or a tech person, you would know the reason why. So, any way, you would not be using the phone in a jungle or forest that you would need 3 days of continuous battery, and if you are using it in such extreme environment, then you don't need a smart phone as you will not have the data signal there.
Point 2: I dont cover my phone as I buy stuff that looks and work great. What is the reason behind having a metal or poly carbonate body if you want to cover it, unless you want to hide its ugliness. I dont walk the sheep way to buy stuff that everyone buys. Regarding ARC, it was one of the best hardware in its class. We dont compare a dual core with quad core and single core with dual core. Any way, even SG4 is also a true quad core only as it never would use 8 cores all together.
Point 3- Flashing the device. What can be better than this. I buy the hardware and not software. I always flsah my phone the very first day i buy it and load it with custom ROM with my tweaks and no bloatware.
Point 3- I had sammy, and trust me, it is a crapp!!! Bad on almost all fronts.
I am not a brand fam but i like to make smart choices rather than walk the sheep line.

So I got my self an Sony Ericsson arc S which only has I single core 1.4GHz (an over clocked 1Ghz CPU) and Sony only kept updated for a year after a really bad and really lagging ICS update they left us to flash our own devices. So I have a phone looks the nuts but after a day of having it I put a case on it and nearly 2 years on I've never taken it off so all the beauty hidden, so im not worried about the looks I want power! Give me 8 cores over four and loads of RAM I really dont want to be stuck with an underpowered phone with no updates after a year! This will be my last Sony phone.

Why are you sammy fans so scarred and always defending sammy. Let me tell the reason, you bought a sammy, now it looks ugly as compared to XZ, and now you say that XZ is bad cause u dint bought one. Lolz
Understand one thing, SONY is like the creator and innovator who developed and created more tech which sammy had not even copied till now. Tell me a single great innovation by sammy. SONY had come out with more tech in its history and present that sammy dont even had resources to copy that. Dont talk about AMOLED now. Apple and Sony dropped it because of its unreliability. Go and read some tech data sheets.

here4u2hate, 21 Mar 2013I have a samsung s3, had it for 9 months now and i never ha... moreDude!!! I have a S3 for almost an year now. And IT is a PLASTIC CRAP!!! We know what polycarbonate is. Check out the chem formula for any midd level plastic, it is poly carbonate only.
We developers hate it cause it is the worst architecture design from tech perspective. We have the least Custom ROMs for sammy plastics because it is so waste of effort for us.
Sammy plastic is meant for people who think more cores mean everything without even knowing is it off use or not. So, its more for dumb people out there rather than actual knowledgeable guys.
Anyways, fact is, no one use to touch sammy before S2 and galaxy right? All said that sammy is the crapiest of all. Truth is, it is still the crapiest. If you are a true android lover, you would never buy a phone by just looking at the number of CORES. lolz.
