I just hope if there is a tech arms race happens

That the customers benefit from the choice of either premium western brands with soc but overpriced

Or import cheap & cheerful from China
And get bargain on there Chinese made crappy soc

I really hope the customers benefit from who ever wins
I really hope taxes and customs clearance don't come a problem

If arms race it is I just hope they fight it out with each other but let the customers choice the winner with buying choices and freedom

I really hope all phone brand choices stay available

95% of Electronic devices are manufactured in there with low price with different build quality.
Still we are using their phones and internet devices (4G , 5G routers) because their devices are available in global market with low price

Nick Tegrataker, 01 Feb 2023Hmm, so is that why Samsung recently made a cross-licensing... moreSure, Huawei has indeed invested the most in 5G, but how did they get there? Search in your browser where was Huawei before it got connected with Cisco. Yeah, they were nowhere but suddenly after Cisco patent case their light bulb suddenly turned on. Not suspicious at all, right? I know it's easy to hate the States but do you really believe Huawei (networking) is innocent? I loved Huawei mobile division which has nothing to do with their main bussiness and I loved their phones but their main bussiness was/is a shady as any western was/is with the only difference that China is our political enemy. I'm saying "our" because I'm from Europe, EU to be exact, so the States are our political allies and China is most deffinitley not.

Also, everybody here mentioning how almost everything is being made in China, okay. But who invested in those factories in the first place? You think it's China? No! China only offered their mega cheap and almost free labor which both sides western and eastern used to the same extent with the biggest difference in marketing. Also, even without marketing side China has advantageas they have all in one country which is lowering the costs of logistics, human resources and supply chains.

Xiaomi or Redmi are cheaper than Samsung? Not surprised at all. Why? When did you last time see an ad for Xiaomi or Redmi or Poco device? What about other Chinese brands? Nothing. Only Huawei played that game. And now just Samsung and Apple, those are the only brands that I see making big ads practically everywhere. And they are the most expensive ones. Wonder why... Yeah marketing cost a tone. Nobody does so much of marketing like these two brands, that's why they're a bit pricier then others. Google tried to be a little bit agressive with adds with their Pixel series 7 but they're not sold globaly which sucks.

Nothing is only black and white, especially with things connected with politics which in this case of USA and Huawei is very prominent.

              Cheers!

If the semiconductor industry gets up and running and up too speed it China be unstoppable

Huawei looks pretty much done for though as this brand always focus on high end something that only us technology can do

Sub optimal strategy for China too focus on being premium

China good at making cheap phone but that's about it

Apple is moving out iPhone and Mac productions of China, yet I don't see them getting banned :)

The Mobile market is getting worse.

Xiaomi subsidiaries sanctioned by China and India. Xiaomi also decides to remove SD Card Slots,Headphone Jack in Midranger Market and downgrades every Ultrawide in their lineup except for Flagships.
                          LG and Blackberry is gone.
Huawei still getting sanctioned by USA. Huawei and Honor has cutting cost on the specifications in their mobile phones.
                          Sharp is completely Japan exclusive.
                          TCL leaves the Midranger market.
Sony still very niche, the only full function flagship segment phones that still has radio, SD Card Slot, Headphone Jack. Also still expensive af.
Samsung couldn't develop cool enough and less battery draining Flagship Chipsets.
Motorola, Tecno and Nubia Redmagic doesn't upgrade their Update Policies.
Realme downgrades their lineup except for Chipset.
Nokia exits Upper Midrange and Flagship Market for good.
Black Shark is bankrupt due to China Sanctions.
Oneplus phones and Google Pixel durability is questionable now and Oxygen OS seems lackluster than before.
Oppo still expensive af for their specs outside China and India.
Foldables from all brands still expensive af.

Also I doubt its about stealing or not paying royalties since they should have a signed agreement on it else said company wouldnt made a deal with them in the first place if they are at a disadvantage right? So its all pure excuses for propaganda purposes!

Their products are cheap because they are the largest manufacturing hub in the world! Huge population so cheaper labor!

The aren't competitive? No wonder they got banned by uncle sam for it! 🤣

Dont make me laugh! They dont develop themselves? No wonder they arent able to launch satellites in outerspace or even made their own Space Station recently. 🤣
