It's not like people don't want headphone jacks and SD card slots. It's that they don't want to pay $500 extra just for those features. If its price wasn't insane, it would be the #1 choice easy

I'm waiting for the 5 V just because it's funny to have a phone called the 5 5 or V V or five five...

I really hope those aren't QB sensors on the cameras, interesting choice to remove the ToF though. I wonder what kind of sensor it is on the back, hope they're 1-inch sensors.

This was a thing on Xperia phones since 2016. I don't know why you're mentioning this as an advantage over Xperia phones.

Really wish Sony would change to a more sensible aspect ratio and improve their software. As long as things stay as they are I’ll stick with Samsung.

The lowly Galaxy S23 still looks like the better choice being much shorter by a good 10 mm. One UI is feature-packed including it stops charging beyond 85%. S23 is only slightly wider but is thinner and lighter than the Xperia 5 IV. I'm not sure Sony's aftermarket customer support is very good. People should only pick the Sony if they really need headphone jack and expandable storage.

notafanboy, 02 Feb 2023Haha Sony Xperia epic fail (again)Still paying $1300 on this is 1000x better than $600 on xiaomi, motorola, oneplus or realme.
Even samsung is better deal than these 4 brands.
                Even iphones.

Xperia phones became expensive AF ... not like the old golden days with Z series. Xperia now is for blingbling people or if you are a white powder dealer too !

Haha Sony Xperia epic fail (again)

LoneOwl, 02 Feb 2023As usual with Sony flagships, many people in comments like ... more"Many" people in comments Is actually a minority

I think people don't understand this about the internet yet

The MINORITY is very loud, majority is silent

So I don't take online complaints, likes or comment total too serious because I understand this more and more each day

As usual with Sony flagships, many people in comments like them for their features(3.5mm jack,no notch,sd card),but in reality like 1% actually buy them due to either being very expensive or not available in many markets(they also have bad release date months after their presentation and bad resale value for those that care about used market).

Cheapest Sony Xperia 1 IV is like 1160euros in amazon(Germany)at the moment.....

Last but not least, its laughable to pay that much money for a flagship with worse software support than some mid rangers(Sony has confirmed 2 major OS updates so far).

                          (double post)

Lets hope it at least has better cooling than previous Xperia phones.

Periscope goes back to 1/2.9" 70-105mm instead of 1/1.7" cropped to 1/3.5" used by 1iv. . Lg Innotek has helped to built it since 1iii, but there is no 4-9x module.
