Ryan47, 11 Feb 2023I have a one tb iPhone 13 Pro Max in green with 100% bh and... moreAs someone who switched between brands like Samsung to Huawei to Xiaomi back to Samsung and then to Apple. All the phones have less battery life on LTE/5G :). Its not exclusive to the iphone. Even all these internet screen on time tests have the phone s only on wi-fi, because who is gonna pay for like 10 subscriptions just for testing.
So yeah even the S23 Ultra will drain faster on mobile data like the 13 pro max. Ironically my current 14 pro max has better signal receptions to the 5G bands in my country than the previous s21 Ultra I had, which also affects the battery drain. The worse the connection the more battery it drains from trying to reconnect to other base stations.
And the current s23 SoT is thankfully better, because I chuckled at when you complained you only get 8h instead of 12h on the 13 pro max on mobile, because my old s21 ultra only got to 4h on exynoss. But since the chip is not crapynoss and is made by TMSC I have high hopes this time.

Seems like Samsung was targeting around ~1h to full charge for the entire line up, regardless of battery size. That explains the 25W charging for the small S23

Fast charging is battery killer, and honestly I used it only with the slowest chargers when I need phone fast

I have a one tb iPhone 13 Pro Max in green with 100% bh and I’m due a s23 ultra in the 18th off Amazon that I paid 935 for with the 512 storage and a free galaxy watch 4.In going to do my own battery test.As everyone knows the 13 pro max has the best battery life of any iPhone ever released it’s legendary but on one condition it’s on Wi-Fi as apple is terrible with mobile data I can get 12 hours screen time in Wi-Fi but only eight hours on mobile data I think it’s the build quality of iPhones and the stainless steel and enhanced water protection the signal outside is always struggling more,iPhones are always behind android in these circumstances.

IQ200, 11 Feb 2023Interesting point of view. Okay so fast chargers can charge... moreI ran some tests on my S22U a while back. The device temperature using the 45w charger was actually cooler using the 45w cable charger than it was using the 7.5w wireless charger. The temperature difference between normal, fast and super fast was negligible.

Anonymous, 10 Feb 2023ever heard of this thing called, charging your phone slow w... moreInteresting point of view. Okay so fast chargers can charge in slow mode too. Sure, that's correct. But, how many people use it that way? If you got a ultra fast charging speed there is no reason to charge it with slower speed as everyone likes their batteries to be ready for use in quicker period of time, it's really a no brainer. Unless something's fishy about all that ultra fast charging and how it impacts on battery over time. Now, that's the thing for me as I personaly don't believe those ultra fast chargers are good on impact of the battery phone longetivity. I know some people wouldn't notice battery degrade because they will change their device after 2 years or even before that, but not me. For example, I like to have the same phone for longer. Much longer. There is a lot of people with plans same as mine. I don't need an new device every year or 2. I used to be that guy, but not any more.
The only thing that could change my mind is a certificate from TUV Rheinland prooving what the companies are adversiting is true. In this case we are talking about impact on battery longetivity not battery saftey. Certificates about that battery safty is on every major Chinese phones site regarding ultra fast charging, but there's not any info about thing called impact on the battery longetivity. Wonder why. I really do. It's not a sarcasm.
I think Chinese OEMs came with superfast technology in the worst time for western brands to have their eco-friendly chargers excluded out of packages and having slower fast chargings on their phone. It's all connected with having less e waste. It seems China's OEMs don't care about that at all, they just want to flood the market and have big sales number. I get that too, they are bussiness after all and main goal is to make a profit. As much as they can. And with those extra low profit margines who can blame them. They just want to survive. But also, they could provide us with certficates about their ultra fast chargings but we don't see it happening because they finally got upper hand with something over western brands. Charging speeds.
I honestly think Samsung deliberatly don't want to include or have a ultra fast charger as they know it clashes with their new philosophy and how we should stick to the same device for longer. That's why they added a prolonged software support. If you check their charging speeds for laptops you would notice they have 240W charging speeds there. You really believe they don't know how to implement it on a phone? I believe they can, but choose not to. The same way as I choose to charge my phone with "slow fast chargers".
I would gladly use ultra fast chargers if someone would provide me a TUV Rheinland certificate about mentioned thing.
Thanks for reading.
Have a nice day!

[deleted post]Actually the iPhone lasts longer in the web-browsing test and much less in the 3G-usage test; and that's no surprise - it's been like that with every single iPhone. They fail in the most important test, where mobile network is being used.

For me,
having fast charging and fast drain phone lead to battery life will not last long.
longer to use.
fast to charge is ok.

Not, 11 Feb 2023I'm not interested in Chinese phones - they are just h... moretalk to me after you use a huawei or vivo phone flagship, samsung can't even get their face unlock right or to keep the screen on while looking at it. I wouldn't go back to samsung after they started this greedy journey of recycling phones, removing charger etc even if it would be the last android phone, i respect myself more than that.
After 10 years with samsung and my wife having a s22 ultra that can i play with, i can say for sure that huawei and vivo are almost playing in another league compared with samsung.
Why would i pay 1400e for samsung when i got x90 pro+ for 1000e with better camera, faster charging, 3x bigger fingerprint scanner, face unlock that actually works even in the dark, infrared to control remote devices and many others. Some people need to understand there's more than samsung and apple on this world because you are the reason that samsung got this lazy and boring with their releses.
samsung has became the apple of androids.

However, that user whose comment was deleted for whatever reason couldn't accept this fact. Anyway, this is good for consumers because Apple has to try harder if it wants to regain advantages.

The fact is that the S23 Ultra... moreIn fairness while we know apple is not the holy grail they are held to be the 14pm holds a few advantages, some even thanks to Samsung's tech, and for battery they are fairly similar. I'm sure depending on the usage it can go one way or the other.
