In my case, i could browse for 14 hours straight using my phone (-7%/ hour), but for regular usage behaviour i "only" get 8 hours SoT.

I knew it would cross over 20h for web browsing and video playback. Just keep in mind that the Fold 5 and Flip 5 will come with the same SoC this August but with smaller (and separate) batteries.

I will still most likely get the Z Flip 5. Well, maybe. I expect web and video playback to reach 15h on both easily or at least 150% better than my Flip 3 on Snap888. In real world usage with 5G off and 60 Hz, I probably only get 6-7h SOT on my Flip 3. These GSMArena tests are probably 30% to 40% better than reality for me. So just pretend you take only 60% to 70% of 22h-23h. Real usage is mostly like 13h-14h.
I saw battery tests of the 13 Pro Max and it completely died after 12h. Not the 20h-24h that GSMArena claims. It was a far more rigorous test so YMMV depending on how you use your phone that particular day. I think the S23U is quite impressive and beat out the Red Magic 8 Pro while having a 1000 mAh smaller battery. Should still be longer than this year's Samsung foldables.
Only reason I prefer waiting for the Flip 5 is I prefer that form factor. I prefer that size when closed in my pocket. Should come with a bigger cover display. The S23U is very, very tempting but I don't like dealing with large slabs. I owned the Note 3 and LG V20 and I wasn't enjoying putting them in my pocket or holster case. The Flip 3 is a tall phone when opened but it's narrower and is far more pocket-sized.

I wonder what these ppl do on their phones to burn so much power.
Mine is midrange, but still 1080p panel with older A77 cores. I use messengers, streaming, youtube, camera, web browsing, reddit, update apps, listen to music , mobile internet, maps, photo editing, file transfering between devices.
Still easily get over 16h SoT. I recharge phone 3x per week.

It is not about charging speed it is about enough power. iPhone 14 pro max got 65% battery left after day of use. MacBook m2air is enough for 3 days IT work. Sorry apple chips smashed all Intel and snapdragons by 3 times.

It's just a shame that it's too big... I can't even think of owning a phone which is bigger than 16cm.. Its too huge for fitting in your pocket and even daily use is too complicated...

If only it wasnt so bloody expensive(and the base version had 12gb ram like previous Ultras).....
It is literally the Android(fablet) dream phone(Pixel/Sony not included due to limited markets/availability), especially in Europe now with the Snapdragon day one and decent battery life and top software support.
Very tempted by this when it drops in price.

I have seen several test videos against various phones and indeed, it seems that Samsung solved the problem of autonomy and heating in this s23u it is almost on a par with the iPhone 14 pro max and in the tests the one that is least favored, guess which one it is ? e pixel 7 pro barely giving 8/9 hours and with almost 40 degrees almost melting!!! Keep betting on exynos Google hahahahaha
