The last 2 Sony phones I had, had reception issues, both xpeia iii and pro I, so as much as I liked the phones, I think I'll stay away.

You could root the 1 III to activate real 4K display for a little while, but Sony removed the feature from the display driver in a software update. It's 100% gone. It's a lie turned into a secret.

You can get up to 650 in certain modes and apps depending. And thats up from the $2500 pro only hitting the 450 range of the 8 year older Galaxy s4.

Sony is innovating through it's world's first 4K 120 screen to it's truly optical zoom to it's speakers that does 360 RA music through it's 4k 120fps on all lenses. There are so many features that Sony smartphones has that other brands simply can't compete. Talk about slow mo? Sony has the best right now. Their autofocus system is among the best and heck their screens are the sharpest around.

Go look at their latest speaker box designs, it's actually awesome. Their screens are 4K at 1000nits sure it's not the brightest iphone has 2000nits but that doesn't mean the iphone has a better screen. You need context. Sony phones are amazing. They provide one if the best phones you can get right now specially in terms of hardware. True they could improve their software but having used iphones, Samsung's and Sony phones, I still choose Sony phones for their package they offer

GSMArena should include two (2) more items on their spec sheets.
1) Phone Sensor model/version. i.e cameras, altirmeter, barometer etc (mainly camera)
2) Panel (screen) model/version.

I think that this year Sony smartphones has to pull out all the stops for survival in the smartphone industry. The Xperia 1 V and Xperia Pro-II:
1) Has to surpass the benchmark hardware and performance off the OnePlus 11.
2) Has to surpass the cameras of the Oppo Find X6 Pro and the Vivo X90 Pro+.
3) Has to surpass the camera software of the Pixel.
4) Must have another Sony's first feature(s).
5) Must have smaller bezels.
6) Must have brighter screen.
7) Must remain as close as possible to stock android OS.
All this must be done to maintain there highly priced flagship smartphone series.

1st Under display fingerprint sensor
2nd Camera that can compete with samsung iphone flagship phone
I think sony 1 iv you can take a good picture on pro mode but it's like only for those who now how to use it.. samsung and iphone can take a good photo even they are not professional..
I like the 50 100x zoom of samsung also
And some filter feature like long exposure , you'll only take normal picture then you can filter it lonh exposure then the phone will auto edit it for you.. something like that..
Make your camera like the samsung flagship phone and iphone flagship phone.. and some gimmicks on it
You can use professional mode for those who are into camera person and normal mode for those who are not professional like me but still want to get a nice picture i think samsung has auto filter i don't know what technique did samsung use on there camera but i love it.. i hope sony can also do that..
3rd will have micro sd card slot up to 1tb
Ram 12GB or more internal memory 512gb or more
I use samsung note 20 ultra 5g the last flagship of samsung that has micro sd card slot.. i didn't buy new phone yet because all flagship phone now don't support micro sd card slot.
I am a sd card guy.. i believe cloud can't replace sd card slot..
3.5mm jack its ok without it because it is more convenient to use wireless headset but cloud can't replace sd card
So please sony make your xperia 1 V support micro sd card

5th massive battery
7th ip65 ip68 dust/water

Picked up an S20 FE 5G 128GB for around 200 dollars and I can expand the storage. Can't do that on an S23 128GB. It also runs Android 11 which looks much nicer :)

Great Sony learned to tone down the price in a couple handsets to being only a couple hundred or so more than the highest costing phones.
And despite the endless claims of the fan base nothing special warrants this. Especially on top of so the cost cutting leaving you with many measurable aspects that are a couple to few years behind other devices.
And simple having less saturated colors in photos is not taking more natural photos.
