Anonymous, 19 Feb 2023i think the current wifi tech only applies to personal use ... moreI do meant personal use tho.
I go to friends/families houses and i kept seeing the exact same default router that the ISP gives to them.

If only there was someone ultimately in charge who could set a sensible spec, then enforce full exploitation of that technology before introducing the next.
It should have been perfectly possible to implement some form of" sleep if not in use" protocol years ago, imagine how many power stations output that would have saved over say, the last 10 years. ?
Poor WiFi and/or mobile network signals eat battery quicker than many big games do, any savings made soon add up to impressive figures simply because of the billions of devices in use on the planet now...

This is pretty interesting because internet as whole is like 60 years old or so.
And the first dial up modems were sluggish and super slow.
Even a verz old turtle with all four legs broken and on returement would be a lot faster.

Sadly all the current WiFi Access points in my country have the older standard, like WiFi 5 when WiFi 6 exists or even older.
But phones do have the newer WiFi options. Now 5Ghz WiFi works fine but the range is very short.

Back in 2013 I don't know what WiFi is, at that time I was using Galaxy Star (my first smartphone). After I used it, I realized this is a very useful feature.
