I just like wireless, its much more convenient, and I never really understood the appeal of using slow memory when my device can have UFS 3.1 or 4.0... anyway, keep grabbing on dearly to old outdated tech, but you're not dragging the rest of us down with you!

kiasunkiasi, 22 Feb 2023"no SD card slot & No 3.5mm jack = NO BUY!" ... moreOf course people still do. They never go outdated and irrelevant, and they always will go that way. Real smart people don't spend more money buying cloud storage that they don't personally own and wireless earbuds that only create more e-waste. A five-year-old wired headphone can still produce way better audio quality than any latest wireless earbuds you can throw in, and that's before playing FLAC or WAV music.

AnonD-807890, 22 Feb 2023A lot of people have invested heavily on headphones and so ... moreI totally doubt the headphone jack on smartphones ever dead. If you really think of that, why would Sony put it back and keep it since the 2020 Xperia 1 Mk2? Don't forget that Sony did remove the headphone jack before on their 2018 and 2019 flagships. Sony could have just continued doing it and kept up with the rest of the field, but they didn't. Also, don't forget what ASUS did with ROG Phone 5 after ROG Phone 3. Not only did ASUS put the headphone jack back, but they also put ESS Sabre DAC in it. That is something only LG did with their flagship phones.

sa11oum, 09 Mar 2023Because the amount of people who still care about 3.5mm jac... moreBest of luck saying that to Sony. They did remove the headphone jack on their 2018 and 2019 flagships, even citing trends for growing wireless audio accessories. Did Sony continue doing the same for their 2020 flagships? Obviously, they don't. That showed anyone could put the hardware back again. It's either common sense or corporate greed, that's it. Sony could have continued doing the former and kept up with the rest of the field, but they didn't. It's the same story as the ASUS ROG Phone 5's predecessor.

I never miss going wireless after I got my LG V50 and started playing with its built-in Quad DAC audio. At the end of the day, both the headphone jack and microSD card slot never go outdated and irrelevant in 2023 and beyond. I even have a friend of mine who sold his Samsung S22 Ultra for a Sony Xperia 1 Mk4, and he doesn't miss his old Samsung phone at all.

Kinda like the LG Wing's built-in secondary display. I can take that since I always use my Wing's secondary display to run another app.

People have hyped up Samsungs and iPhones to the extreme. Those phones don't offer SD slots. When you abandon your niche market, you lose them and they turn to what? Samsung and Apple.
For the small cost of keeping the SD and Jacks, why wouldn't you want those customers who want expanded options?

sa11oum, 24 Feb 2023Not as many people as you think would sign your petition. P... moreSD cards are used to STORE data. That makes the speed transfer basically IRRELEVANT!
Nobody is doing quantum physics on their phone using the SD card you goofy nerd 🍑🤓!
The internal memory is used to install apps, take videos/photos TEMPORARILY until MOVED to the SD card.
Speed only matters if you are filming 8k or shooting photo bursts or using 3D apps which uses the internal memory anyway, NOT the SD card. The fact that it takes a FEW seconds more to TRANSFER files is again IRRELEVANT.
The most intensive thing that you can do with an SD card is directly watching an 8k video from it, though that's redundant because you wouldn't actually do it since the display of the S23 Ultra for example is only 2k.
And if you truly need the speed, you use PROFESSIONAL TOOLS! That also use the SD card, like the GoPro or DSLRs, or video cameras etc
