Anonymous, 22 Feb 2023I think this is because there's literally no news abou... moreNo, it's because the 8 Gen 2 isn't the 8 Gen 1. The Xiaomi 12/12 Pro had bad battery life and performance. It seems likely the only reason the 12S's were launched was the processor (upgraded to 8+ Gen 1). Such upgrades are unnecessary with the 8 Gen 2 because it doesn't suffer from the issues of the 8 Gen 1. I have my doubts about Qualcomm even launching an 8+ Gen 2 unless Mediatek forces its hands.

I think this is because there's literally no news about Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2. Wait for that to come in, then we'd see 13S.

Besides just a few subtle tweaks, the 12S didn't offer anything to make it a better buy compared to the OG Xiaomi 12.
Especially for a "value for money" oriented company like Xiaomi, doing a mid generation refresh is just not viable considering their target market.

I think since Xiaomi 12S series just killed Xiaomi 12 series which is pretty "bad" move than focusing to mid-range series and UI.
