Amazon, like Apple, designs it and Foxconn manufactures it.

Hate the fact that you can't use Amazon services in Sweden. Show us some love. Doubt that the phone would be a S4 killer. Guess they will compete on price like they did with the kindle.

This phone has QUADCORE and 2GB RAM,8MP Camera very similar to Google Nexus 4 quality.

For sure it will give tough competition to high cost flagship smartphone like Xperia Z/ZL, HTC ONE, SGS4, LG Optimus G...

It's not marketed as an Android tablet. They use their own OS which is lightly built off Android and never claim it to be a full Android tablet. The Amazon Appstore is rich with high quality apps and have regular sales and "App of the day" promotions.

The Amazon app Market offers thousands of Android apps from Google Play but you can't access Google Play directly from a Kindle.

Hopefully the Amazon smartphone will be Android, as people will be less inclined to buy it. It's fair enough having a book reader, but phones are a completely different kettle of fish.

Amazon phones and tablets sucks. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've heard that Kindle Fire dosn't support Google Play, it only has Amazons own store? Which sucks!

wow I'm tired of being gouged by these othere phone companies. If they can make quad core 7' tabs for 150 some as low as 100 then they can make a 4.7' phone for 200 or less. Companies like Apple and Samsung are making to much money off us :-[
