joe nodden, 01 Mar 2023Underwhelming performance. It seems like no amount of specs or good pricing is enough for poor buyers

Ivan, is there a gap between the two halfs when folded and how is the crease?

      Underwhelming performance.

Daemon Targaryen, 28 Feb 2023Foldables are old news. Motorola needs to turn that Rizr ro... moreIf rollables are launched nobody is going to buy foldables. That is why they won't launch them until a few more years.

The Z outsells all other foldables in China except Huawei and like those other foldables, this is not water resistant. Not sure the lower price will make a difference, but they have about 6 months to make a name for themselves before the 5th generation Z makes all other foldables irrelevant.

Looks nice, especially the back of the dark variant. Something different than glass.

Anonymous, 28 Feb 2023With this price, Bring it to worldwide this will sell wellIn Europe, with all the taxes and stuff, this will probably be around the 1300€ range (only guessing!). It will then compete against Samsungs Fold 4, which Starts at 1350...

Foldables are old news. Motorola needs to turn that Rizr rollable concept into an actual mass market product. That's a device that looks like it comes from 10 years into the future. I realize l'm sticking to Motorola brand even with their terrible software support, aftermarket support, and cameras. Got a history with Motorolas.

                V600 (2004-2006)
                RAZR V3 (2006-2008)
                Moto E2 4G (2016-2017)
                Moto E4 (2018-2019)
                Razr 5G (2021-Present)

I realized I wouldn't have ever got into the cell phone hobby without lusting for that Motorola V600 on PhoneScoop back in 2004. I know Motorola is owned by Lenovo but Motorola to me always had the best designs especially clamshells and sliders. Even took an orange "Molly" pill with the Motorola logo on it 22 years ago. Decent 2-hour Xperience. Not the strongest euphoria but good.

remove the front camera, put some less powerful lenses on the back or reduce the power (by going for a midrange chip) if you want and then release an even more budget version. Foldables are starting to become mainstream and I'm all for it, les gooo

                    Here comes a new challenger!

If Tecno promises OS and Android frequent updates, at this price, Phantom V Fold will be hard to beat. Less expensive price, 12GB + 512GB by default (and we don't see this that much), premium design with no frills and even a charger brick inside the box. It might not be the fastest, but at least they still include it.

Great job so far, Tecno. 👏 👏 👏

                      Maybe in Europe?....

This looks amazing! Still expensive, but much cheaper than the competition. Finally something promising on the foldable phone market.

What's the back material & texture like?
                            It seems pretty nice!

Specs are pretty good, the phone is priced reasonably. However, update policy is a drawback against the competitors. It's a great smartphone though.

                                this will sell well

This is much better pricing than the Z Fold and Honor Vs. Although it won't be as functional but it should be a good entry into the foldable space. Not expecting it to rival but at those prices, even with some flaws, it's worth the look.

Anonymous, 28 Feb 2023Nice pricing and specs but, there's always a but, OS. ... moreNot expecting Samsung level UI or stock Android. As long as it works.

Wow, a Book-style foldable for Flip-style money and also same money as the iphone 14/Plus, with double storage no less & fast charger, lol! 😂
If I had the money and was interested in foldables, I would've definitely bought it!
