As a happy SE user, nobody except for the Plus/Pro Max crowd ever said the 5.8 inch iPhones were too small. But I also understand that Apple wants to reuse what they have with the 14.

Nikojas, 06 Mar 2023Doesn't this make the 12,13 and 14 obsolete?
Isn'... moreWell, I think that's the idea. The upcoming iPhone SE4, will make the iPhone 12, maybe the iPhone 13 obsolete. The iPhone 14 for sure not.
When Apple will release the iPhone 15, they will keep the iPhone 14 in sale, but with 100$ lower price. And they will release the iPhone SE4 as a cheaper version of the iPhone 14 (something around 450$). They will discontinue the iPhone 12 and 13.

UltraHD, 06 Mar 2023iPhone 14 body means 2 cameras for sure, they won't us... moreDude, how they can use A16, when even the base model iPhone 14 use A15? They don't want to compete with other iPhone models, they just want a cheaper iPhone model.
I will say they will put A14, maximum A15 (but this is a big maybe).
As for the rest of the components, I bet they will use the cheapest possible. Maybe some older camera modules, etc.
Remember, their goal is to make a 400-450$ iPhone.

Anonymous, 07 Mar 2023This, if true, is apple taking a different approach for SE ... moreThey are keeping it affordable by using less expensive parts. Display is just one part of the equation.

This, if true, is apple taking a different approach for SE for this time. Usually, the SE is an entry level iPhone (below $500) and, of small size. Basing it on iPhone 14 size will make it certainly big, and not affordable anymore. IDK what they doing with this

"More than twice less than" is better phrased as "Less than half". It's genuinely confusing to read otherwise

You can’t deny Apple makes great software..... but their products are always over priced.......the little 40 inch Apple Watch is like 600 bucks after tax and apple car..... the cheap iPad is like $400 bucks after tax and is So outdated......

How does Apple get away with selling a push button iPad for so much money. Also, how does Apple get away with selling smart watches without a time sensor for more money than a watch that does. Why is everything Apple sells over priced and always lacking. You always have to compromise with Apple products unless your rich.

From what i can tell, this SE exists mainly because Apple needs to use up their leftover iPhone 14 displays
They can't put them on the 15 as the whole lineup will be using the dynamic island so instead they'll use them on the new SE
Samsung on the other hand is one step ahead of Apple. Using the same design every year means you can recycle your old parts so the S22 displays were used on the S23

UltraHD, 06 Mar 2023I don't think there's a point of doing this, rele... more120hz childish needs. 60hz is enough, especially on iOS where animations is smooth.

Doesn't this make the 12,13 and 14 obsolete?
Isn't it took similar to the 15 besides the chip and dynamic island? Not sure what's the logic...

in my opinion, they should've made the SE a 13 mini body instead of the 14 body, even though the name isn't specified as "small edition", it would've fit the small narrative of all the SE' from before .
