OSE
http://www.enea.com/templates/Extension____12765.aspx
The Operating System Embedded (mostly known under the acronym OSE) is a real-time embedded operating system created by the Swedish information technology company ENEA. Bengt Eliasson, who at the time was a consultant from ENEA with an assignment at Ericsson, wrote the basic parts of the kernel. The early version for the Zilog Z80 processor was named OS80.
OSE uses signaling in the form of messages passed to and from processes in the system. Messages are stored in a queue attached to each process. A 'link handler' mechanism allows signals to be passed between processes on separate machines, over a variety of transports. The OSE signalling mechanism formed the basis of an open-source inter-process communication project called LINX .
The system exists in several revisions named OSE for ARM processors, PowerPC and MIPS, OSEck for various DSP's and OSE Epsilon for minimal devices.

Looks promising though most Nokia and SE fan boys(Symbian S60 and UIQ) don't seem to approve it because of obvious reasons. I would really like to see Motorola, Sony Ericsson and LG running on this platform, especially LG because it does'nt have an OS, well, except KS20 which runs on Window Mobile. Symbian, Windows Mobile, Palm, Apple, RIM, Linux Mobile and now, Android. What a competition!

I'm a hard core symbian fan but I must say I'm very interested in Android. If nokia fails on S60 touch UI I think I will go with Android.

why gsm arena didn't announce that google offer nokia to join their os with nokia's Symbian S60 but nokia turn them down. Nokia Symbian s60 is the world's leading os having about 65% of the market share follow by window mobile 15% and apple's 7%. Symbian s60 could be found in nokia's nseries, the upcoming samsung 8mega pixel and many more device from samsung and LG. And also they didn't announce that nokia offer to buy other shares of symbian from sony and motorola to come out a whole new os using S60 including some uiq interface into their OS. So next time, sony, samsung, lg, motorola and about 10more company will use Symbian S60 which is licence from NOKIA. Hmmm.
