its just external usage, OS + core system will always remain with phone memory, only apps and files can be transfered
thus the times that slow-down happen is when u loading apps that placed on sd-card
even that, without mods, most of important files of the apps still remain on phones (only unimportant parts that transfered to sdcard)
do your external hdd slow-down your PC ? can happen only when u load somethin on those external hdd, same to phones
need it or not, it matter of user preference, most probably not need it anymore since phone memory keep getting bigger, but having slot still nice, as it more convenient to move-it around physically rather than need to transfer or needing cloud storage (which need internet connection)

ARM wants OEMS and device makers to buy whole SoC as a package from ARM ( ARM CPU+ ARM GPU + ARM AI chip) , and ARM wants to stop Chip makers like Qualcomm who mix and match ( ARM CPU + ADRENO GPU + Qualcomm AI chip)
According to report ARM, you cannot mix stock ARM cores with custom solutions, you can only Custom cores

Don't get me wrong I don't think Qualcomm is a saint. But seriously. Disallowing them to make changes to core designs? They may as well sell themselves to RISC-V. Sounds like the type of thing apple would do. It'll bite them though. Eventually Qualcomm will hit a wall and they'll be able to make better chips using RISC-V. That may be decades from now. However, disallowing them to make changes to the core designs is not very beneficial in the long run. I hope the chip designers band together and sue them. This is ridiculous.

So many insecure Snapdragon supporter, even the rumored chip would be ready 2027.
That's one sign that Samsung is on the right path, giving more pressure to competitors👍
No need to be a fans of chipmaker. Chipmaker is really unimportant and irrelevant without the help from big companies like Samsung or Apple.
Samsung/Apple still could sell any phone anywhere with any chip they want, but not with Intel/Qualcomm. So, Qualcomm must follow Samsung rules or get out.
