Rodolf, 12 Mar 2023Why pay that much for a foldable when I can buy a flagship ... moreBut with foldable you can get mini tablet that fits in to your pocket.

Most people want big screen but for regular phones we are on the limit with 6.6-6.8 inches phones.

But honestly i have Fold 3 and i have less and less opened it to use that big screen anymore, of course when i open it i love it but i have actually thinking that my next phone will be regular smartphone or Flip style foldable.

In the future i hope those rollable phones will come(and be durable for everyday use) and have better cameras, cheaper price, lighter and thinner than big folding phones.

It is possibly though that we are going to get standalone AR glasses faster than rollable phones which could mean there is not that much of a need for big screen phones anymore when you can use AR glasses and use those to consume media and browse the web etc and use phone for cameras and providing 5g connection to the glasses.

    we are just 9%
not many enjoy the excitement and adventure of an expanded display

Foldable phones are just a gimmick and phones like Moto razor or Galaxy flip are worst of all types of foldable.

these chinese foldable are no doubt impressive but I just can't with their UIs

was considering getting one last year but I just ended with an iPad. which I did not regret.

Why pay that much for a foldable when I can buy a flagship smartphone AND a tablet at the same or even less price?

Any smartphone is lighter to carry than foldable, any tablet screen is larger than foldable screen (I then have both worlds without the need for foldable).

Definitely my next phone. Regular phones are really boring for the past few years so I might try out a new thing.

This poll lacks option of rollables, I have no interest in ever buying a foldable but I'd love a rollable that adjusts its aspect ratio to fit content on screen

Foldable phones are and will remain a niche product. Maybe when Apple will decide to get on this train, things could change, but I doubt they will change drastically. But, I think Apple will more likely make a Flip phone, rather than a Foldable.
As to answer this poll, I am not interested in a Foldable. I have two colleagues, one with a Fold 4 and the other with a Flip 4, and I don't like either phones to be honest. The crease is clearly visible on both and on top, the Fold 4 is a bulky and heavy device.
Of course, this is just my opinion, I am not saying that people should not buy or go for them. I am pretty sure some people prefer this type of devices. I just don't.

No foldables for me anymore, but notebook computers still tolerated, foldable bicycles even loved.

I have had it with puny flat-cables and hinges. And with the thickness of foldable smartphones.

Just waiting for Google Pixel Fold...

I will prefer rollable phones in future when they will be fully functional with better durability.

My company has given me a Galaxy ZFold 4 to use, and it's pretty good for browsing & multimedia usage. To be honest, foldable phones are the only revolutionary phones in the market. The regular brick phones haven't had any meaningful spec/feature upgrade in the past 5 years or so. It's only the foldables that have truly brought dramatic changes to the way we use smartphones, and substantially improved the user experience.

Most people who diss foldables haven't actually used one yet. You need to actually use it to realize how much it improves your smartphone experience. I guess now that the Chinese brands are starting to bring cheaper foldable phones, we'll be seeing a lot more people switch to foldable phones.

I might consider buying one when they start having glass screens, no crease and no more than $1000

I don't want/need a foldable, it's unnecessary to have one. Also I can't imagine myself having to fold it every day multiple multiple times and having to stress about will it break or not. I prefer normal phones.
