Minu, 14 Mar 2023All phone designs now are boring nglYou might be right, but IMO the Red Magic 8 Pro might also be boring. But... The Red Magic 8 Pro is what I want in a phone, just give me a flat rectangle. I don't care about curved corners that add nothing to the experience, I definitely don't want a curved screen or curved back. The Pixel 6a design is actually pretty decent outside of that ugly visor IMO, but it's one of the few phones without much curves to the corners. 7a is looking ok as well. 8 / 8 Pro looking a bit nasty.

I would rather just charge as fast as possible. I guess technically I do have an iPhone 13, but that lives in the box.

As to battery life, Google should also invest in battery tech that would last longer because their OS is doing a lot in the background (which eats up lots of battery).

Wireless charging on one hand is a good solution on other it overheats battery much more than normal charging.
Even a 240W charger does not make such heat as for example 1W wireless charging.

hmm, 14 Mar 2023It's actually good that it looks like that as you can ... moreMan to be honest only good design this year or past 2 years are Honor magic 6 ultimate my third place along with Oneplus 11.
ZTE Nubia Red magic 8 pro plus wons my second place for all innovattion and rugged but futuristic like design thats my second place in cell phone innovations.
And the best design award and past 2-3 years definitely belongs to Meizu 20 pro.
Where Lateest batch of Iphones looks ugly, horrific and boring because its same phone like 13 and 12 series same goes for Samsung phones since S10 lite the the Meizu 20 pro combined both and created something different and unique.
Its my first place in design and i am very happy with the look that Meizu and Geely made.

I had nexus 7 tablet that after like 7 years it's micro usb port wear so much that i needed to hold it and bend it so it charges. Well i had wireless charging on it too so got one more year out of it on use

L... moreIt's actually good that it looks like that as you can get a case for it that makes the rear flat like phones use to be without camera islands that pop out of the rear and are annoying when phone is on the table

Meizu 20 and 20 pro looks gorgeous.
New Honor Magic 6 Ultimate is also goreous.
Nubia red magic 8 pro plus looks like best design i saw past decade.
Oneplus 11 also looks marvelous to me.
Not all phones looks bad.

Maybe its get priced 449 but i dont believe into that.
And even if the price will be 449 it will be way too much for average midranger made from low and bad quality plastic.

I also have a qi charger in the car as well and it keeps my phone charged within 5-7% of what I started with... streaming music, navigation and all. 5W there too, since the cabin gets hot in the summer.
Sure faster charging would be nice, but it's good enough for a lot of use cases.

My Pixel 6a gets quite hot with regular usage and I hate that, makes my fingers feel tingly and I go into the "drop it" mode. Will definitely be looking for another phone.

The back will be made of plastic, and the display and camera tech is worse, so i hope Google will stick to their current attractive price schema and market segmentation.
In the end, they definitely need a device in the lower market segment in order to get more relevant in the over all market...
