My 3GB ram phone have run smoothly for 5 years if it is to browns internet and so on.
Opening games are slow and they lag but it was slow even on release as it is low end middle class with sd636. And i am talking about as smoothly as it was when it was new as it was never that smoothly running.

        Phone designed to avoid distractions but has 8gb of RAM, yeah right, what's the point to put ,8gb of RAM in phone designed to basically be used just as phone? :) I can see how students quickly would jailbrake this crap and make it to proper gaming phone for students 🤣

          so basically few years old phone with bumped storage and RAM, which are both useless since apps are severly limited if used as intended, why not just take any 4,7-5" phone from drawer and replace battery?

            If this phone had esim or isim, normal Bluetooth 5.3 with aptx le and good amount of storage it was a best phone to buy

Also for elderly it's better to have larger battery cause they forget to charge it daily as this phone needs it with it's little battery.

                    if they can put at least ufs 2.1 storage and up the battery to 3000mah with a 50mpx main cam, it'd be amazing tbh.

                      Yes, data they will share, but honestly every Google phone does.
                      Ads can be switched off, but with a phone aiming on zero distractions they might not have ads I think.
                      Battery life, only time will tell properly how good it will be. Maybe they tuned something? And G99 is efficient too.

                      Overall, its not the best the industry can do, but we don't have lot of choices in small phones... so, we might need to adjust.

                        Just 118 grams on a 5 inch screen? That with G99, seems like too good to be true.

                        This is actually good even for elderly, not just students. And believe it or not, rather get something like this for myself too than some heavyweight phone they sell nowadays.
                        2500 mah is good enough if they tuned the OS in such a way that actually apps don't run too much in BG. Remember Nokia 808 giving 2 days backup in 1400mah?

                          2. It may share personal info
                          3. It will show ads
                          4. it has less than average battery
                          5. mediatek processor

                              This phone is an oddity and it reminds me when Microsoft started selling that Surface Go with Windows 10 S + 128GB of storage, a paltry 4gb of ram & some Pentium processor for 500$ 🤣.

                              I get it's supposed to be some "educational phone", but the specs make no sense. Unless they are repurposing some left over motherboards from some other Xiaomi device, then idk why they put 256gb & 8gb of ram on that thing. Does it even features some kind of Dex mode or something?

                                  More ram wont make the phone future proof. My phone have 3GB ram and 32GB storage as it's enough for me. Also future proof for RAM you need a phone that get at least 3 OS updates to make sense for the ram as future proof.

                                  Yes i dont need good camera as i make few clicks a year but still it has it as too low end for the price of the phone they ask.

                                  That smaller battery point makes also no sense if the phone specs are so good that your tempted to play with the phone more cause it's capable for it.

                                  I want larger battery so i dont need to charge it daily and it be like once in a week

                                    It has the specs for phone addicts as G99 is good enough chip to have a lot of screen time and you can play a lot of games with it no problems.

                                    This phone is made for people exactly like ME on how the phone is used.
                                    I only make few calls a day and thats about it.

                                    I want a compact phone like the size of this but not for 250 dollars when it's value is at best 150 cause it dont even have decent camera for the price. 8mp camera you can find these on 100 dollar phones that also have 6.5 inch screen with 720p+ screen and 5000-6000mAh batteries on them.

                                    This phone still has too much ram and storage to stop phone addiction and still too good of a cpu/gpu to stop addiction and when you also can use multiple windows with it.

                                    Is this 2500mAh batter the feature on this phone that stops addiction if the phone wont last you even half a day to use ?

                                    My phone have 4000mAh battery and first 3 years it was lasting me 5 days without charging. Now it last me 3-4 days cause the phone is already 5 years old.

                                    For 250 dollars i expect it to have specs as close to Poco M5s as possible to justify this high price for it.

                                        Based on this phone specs it should not cost more then 150 dollars as it's only good feature is it's size.
