Weekly poll: Samsung Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A34, fan favorites or a missed opportunity?

19 March 2023
The Galaxy A52s is still getting praise, even after the A53 has been around for a while. Can the A54 get the same love from fans?

For the price of the latest A series phones there are better options available

A34: Nothing (1), Pixel 6a, edge 30

A54: OnePlus 11R, moto edge 30 fusion

Not to mention the sea of many Chinese phones at every price point offering lots of features etc and Samsung's own phones, the S20FE and S21FE, which are better than the latest A series phones in comparison

Seems like a hard sell for Samsung. Fans will still go for it tho

Even galaxy note 3 can record 4k 30fps video, 9 years later and midrange phones still stuck at 4k 30fps without EIS, also exynos SoC with shit modem, ISP and CPU that needs to be throttled to reach the same battery life as Snapdragon 778G.

I just saw benchmarks from geekbench 6 A54 vs Xiaomi 13 Lite which has Snapdragon 7 gen 1. A54 singlecore score: 1002, Multicore score: 2825. And Xiaomi 13 Lite singlecore 927 and multicore 2642.

There should be another option: "I'll wait for M34/54"

What's stopping me from upgrading from my unresponsive A03s is the lack of a proximity sensor on both these devices.

It's like Samsung hasn't learned from their mistakes from last year's batch.
Virtual Proximity Sensing is not reliable. All it does is causes problems like butt-dialing.
Gonna have to wait again for next year.

For me personally, A54 is more than enough and i had Galaxy A52s too.
It's just that people expect too much and then get disappointed, if you dislike these specs buy Xiaomi or year/two older Samsung.
Now i don't mind this new Exynos, as far as i've seen it's pretty much like 778G. More than enough for 90% users.
The price is ridiculous, i'm definitely waiting for price to drop and i'll maybe get A54 since i can't stand MIUI anymore.
My A52s worked perfectly fine expect that vibration motor which was a disaster so i'm confident enough that A54 will work the same/possibly slightly better.

                    Imagine the A54 with 778G+

                    It would sell out quick
