They can make more money selling you an overpriced foldable when all you want is a mini tablet/phone in the 7-7.5 inch category

I`m loving my Fold 4 but I need a wider cover screen for easier typing when I`m busy. Hopefully Fold 5 or Pixel Fold will have that, although I prefer Samsung for the pen

There are a lot of foldable phones being sold here in Philippines for like $400, albeit them being the 1st gen Z Flips. And I always see the same model having screen problems, with the crease being the start of it all.
I have tried using one (Flip 4). But tbh I don't see the value when the crease experience is appalling and the screen feels less premium than glass.

I'm sure everyone would love one, but prices of such phones are too high, and it always comes down to that.
If there was $250 flip/fold phones I guarantee everyone would buy one and classic smartphones would become history, just like it was with flip/slide phones 15 years ago.

If someone launches a smaller foldable tablet that can be used to make phone calls, I promise a lot of people are going to use it as a phone. Me included.. probably.

foldables go against primal human psychology. it's much less of a hassle yo check regular phone than to actually open a foldable when you need just a quick peek into the screen. sfter playing with a new toy most of the people will be reluctant to open the big screen unless they expected a prolonged uninterrupted screen session, like sitting at the airport with nothing much else to do, but to huy a foldable for those rare occasions during the day is overkill

Like with every flip and fold regardless of brand is always the same story i am trying to say here.
As long as the main screen is scratchable by nail or mohs pick 2 and you cant use screen protector is useless, its obsollette, definitely very costly to make even costlier to repair.
World this world is not ready for phones like this no matter the brand.
When they release glass which can flex and fold and do not breaks it will be another story but right here right now is nothing but a costly gimmick regardless of specs and brand even if price will be under 200.
As long as the main screen is useless because its can get damaged on every accident even those which happened by missfortune foldable phones are nothing but costly gimmick and those people behind this should change they work and stop making pieces of sh*t.
End of story is simple as that.

I'll get vertical one, when it will be able to match the camera and battery chops of a traditional design.

GSMArena please don't standardise vertical and horizontal fold terms, it's confusing as it either refers to the way the foldable closes, or the crease or.... either tablet fold or phone fold
