With some exceptions, no brand, especially these big bramds like Apple, Samsung, Google or Xiaomi will add those features back to every phone they release. Just understand that already.       Imagine if Apple was somehow destroyed before iphone 7 was released, we'll have headphone jacks on all phones today.

          Why don't they just go to 2.5D glass? The only portion of the screen that's curved is the bezel, whereas the display itself is still flat.

                I rather see a full flat panel. I just can't see any advantage of curved screen, especially when it comes to screen protection.

                  Curved edges are such a dumb idea. Congratulations, a bit of your photo/video is now permanently warped! Yay, you can't hold your phone without registering accidental touches all the time! More expensive repairs? Yes please! Harder to protect with a case? That's the best!

                  Finally, a return to sanity and function. I don't care how pretty anyone thinks they look.
                  Curved screens make as much sense as square wheels.

                      Both are good news. I feel like the Pixel 8 will be the best designed phone of 2023. it has the comfortable rounded sides and corners, a smaller screen, and metal and glass construction.

                        Why don't they try to save money on screen , like they do with processor?

                          I am going to buy both if they launch in my country and prices same as last year. 100USD increase will put me in a position to buy Pixel 7A.

                            Google just seems to be copying everything Apple and Samsung does. Less curved displays is always a plus.

                            Apple should return to the rounded sides from the iPhone 6 through 11 days. I didn't like the flat sides that the iPhone 12 brought back.

                              I hate round corners. S23 Ultra looks gorgeous but the camera section is gimmick on it.
                              12MP cameras are shit

                                This looks like the pebble design of the 6S....I love this design❤️

                                  Great..much comfy to hold like s10 5G 6.7inch. hope it will have 6.8inch display though
