Don't know if most remember Meizu, but I do. They were the best phone around back in their 5,6 and 7 series. The 6 and 7 series were sensational! My sister still uses the 7 Pro, still works great too with that second display!
Their hardware was the best, but the software left some to be desired back then but even so, it was fast and fluid!
Really hope Meizu can come back using their strong design language and quality hardware with improved software experience and they might make it in China, now that GREE is behind them!

I've used Meizu Pro 5 for a while, one of the best phones I've had. Big Amoled screen, great camera and very brilliant audio quality since it had two audio DACs (one from Wolfson for 'normal' listening and one from ESS for 'Hi-Fi' audio). Even more it had great battery life considering the screen was 5.7 and only 3050 mAh. I guess Exynos was really good those times.

Both the Meizu MX4 (which I used for 2 years as a personal phone) and the Meizu Pro 5 were very good, beautiful and cheap.
I really liked being able to change the top of the MX4, the ones that were imitation gray wood, they felt great after being fully accommodated after 3 days of putting it on, and they gave a very good touch.

the meizu zero would be apple's next innovation. upcoming iphone 15 pro max!!!!!😱😱😱😱😱 base models would still have lightning port but charging cables sold separately. the package would be thinner, you only get the unit itself after buying. for the sake of "environmental goal"

I've had the opportunity to use Meizu M2 for quite some period and flymeos was unique, snappy and lot less cluttered when compared to other android skins at that time. Pity they never expanded that much in India.

Those lenses on the expected Meizu 20 series look like a copy from Samsung S23/A54.

Oppo and vivo often charge €550-600 for midranges with low quality screen, macro/depth rear cameras, no IP rating, plastic back and old glass on front. Phones that get security patch once every 4-5 months.
OnePlus midranges are oppo.
Realme, nothing is worth.

Meizu 16s Pro. It has 1/2.9" selfie and no cutouts.
This is evidence that ugly worm hole is not necessary, majority of phones have way smaller front camera.

Meizu's uniqueness is what makes me like it. I completely view them in a different perspective compare to other Chinese brands. not sure how to word it but they act differently compared to other Chinese brands like BBK, Xiaomi or Transsion.
the flymeOS, while every Chinese brands are busy cluttering their UI, Flyme remained clean.
with Geely I hope they won't stop thinking outside the box.

It's not just hardware, they had attention to detail in their unboxing and software too.
This is another company that makes me frustrated. They deserve more success. Same for Sony, Sharp and LG. But they lack availability, marketing, and in the consumer mindshare.
It's almost all about Apple at the top end, Samsung as an alternative, BBK in the middle with Xiaomi on the low end.... and then a sea of other devices that people don't care much for.
