Patiently waiting for a premium watch that doesn't have miserable battery life... there's competition that does this (Fitbit) just fine, what's the problem? Why do I have to pay more for less? If this watch has the same clown battery life as all other Samsung watches, my money will be spent elsewhere Samsung.

I know they could put in a bigger battery but refuse to. Ticwatch, Huawei all do it, but Samsung refuse to. It would be as bad if they used a super energy efficient chipset but they don't really do that either. Wear OS doesn't do it alot of favours either.

Everything is improving and battery tech is still tragic. Nothing changes for the last 10-15 years except charging speed.

Don't need pointless AMOLED screens on a watch, what is needed is MIP transreflective screens done right. A watch also dont need rubbish bloated OSes like wear OS. The absolute minimum is what a watch needs to get the best battery life out of a small battery in the 200-350mAh range. that means going super customized and well optimized OSes for the hardware used.

Battery innovations are aplenty with grand claims of endurance and stored energy density increases but nothing has shown commercial viability, that's the key until then its all smoke and mirrors meant for investors to gamble on taking the plunge.

So again, you are naive to think one thing is safer than the other. Samsung Knox isn't safer than Google pay. Both software. If you have something contactless, it can be abused, no matter how much you try to protect it. So you better just sell all your stuff and live with the cold hard cash.

kek, 18 Mar 2023As long as these run WearOS, battery life will be terrible ... moreIt's not just Wear OS, a 300mah battery is less than a tenth of a smartphone, with Bluetooth or Data Drain and a flashing led sensor for health metrics. Granted your not powering a huge screen but still, it's a tiny capacity. Smartphones give you 1-2 days of usage. A smart watch gives 1 day. I know 1 day feels rubbish but on less than a tenth of a smartphone battery it's ok. It's really going to need a battery breakthrough otherwise watches will be too heavy.

Is this going to look like the Watch 4? Because the Watch 5 looked EXACTLY like that Watch 4.

Nothing else to offer in the smartwatch industry. They got stuck big time.
