It would be under 10mm in thickness (not 10" in screen size) when unfolded, so it shouldn't be an issue that it's >20mm when folded because people would be getting this for the unfolded screen estate.

2. 👍

    2) I guess we have similar points in that area then.

        1. You questioned its usability for having more than 20mm thickness when folded and I said when unfolded, it will be below 10" (like all regular phones, yes) because people would be using it unfolded more often because that's the point of getting one.

        2. I didn't claim that >20mm is pocketable. I said people who prefer more pocketable phones that can be used with a single hand would never want any foldable phone (because it's thick when unfolded and can't be used with just one hand when unfolded).

          2) A 20mm brick is not "more pocketable".

According to the most things you posted, there is no reason to switch to an Apple phone. What iOS versions of apps are better? It's 2023. Regarding cameras, actually, the flagship Android cameras are better or on par with those of Apple phones. Apparently Apple phones capture better videos, though. As for processing power, the S8G2 outperforms the A16. So if you want higher processing power, you should buy a flagship Android phone. I don't care what phone you'll buy in the future. I just want to point out that you're misinformed.

Vitaliano G., 26 Mar 2023So far S22 FE is nowhere to be found except in some article... moreI generally like simplicity so agree simplier lineup is not a bad lineup. Still S line is not overcrowded and considering the market, firstly the price gap between them will be visible: S23 won't go very low, while A54 in fact won't be as high as many people here currently believe. Secondly, beside FE (say with 8+gen1), we also have this brand new 7+gen2 here that will soon or later appear in a Samsung phone. Theoretically best suits to upper midrange as A7x or A5x-s but there are more possibilities. Who knows. The question is also when. Next year spring, isn't that bit late? Again, Idk. All this combined makes me think there is an opportunity to bring another new phone even this year though. Well now it's their turn, ours then.

joe nodden, 25 Mar 2023More usable? So is the 20+mm folded thickness also more usable? Clearly when I said more usable aspect ratio, I was talking about it in unfolded state, which would be below 10" in thickness. And if you would be using it folded more often, then obviously you should stick to the traditional form factor. This is also why I don't think any foldable will ever appeal to a certain market - those who just want a more pocketable phone that is easy to use with a single hand.

So far S22 FE is nowhere to be found except in some articles. I own a S21 FE and while it is a good phone, in the actual offer I don't get the idea of the FE option anymore. From a user perspective, the gap between the A54 and S23 is not so big. Spec-wise we can argue all what we want, but the final act is that for the person who actually buys the phone, the difference ends up being negligible, and making a choice gets just difficult.

So, lightening the offer is a good move.

For me as a S21 FE user, the future is as simple as it has always been. When I'll get a new phone, I'll check what I want and how much money I have for it, then I'll get all the bang my money can buy.

Having a large screen when unfolding may sound great, but you have to know that there are still lots of mobile apps that aren't made for large screens and don't support screen splitting. Since I sold it for my current LG V50 with its detachable Dual Screen case, I never looked back to think if I ever miss using my foldable phone, which I don't.

No surprise that wired audio still lives on and prospering well.

Anonymous, 25 Mar 2023Please, you can't even get anything higher than 1080p/... moreI got a NexDock Wireless lapdock, and I can agree with it. I have no trouble using 1080p/60Hz when using a wired cable, but I can't go beyond 1080p/30Hz when using wireless. At some point, I dropped the screen resolution to 720p for better stability. So really, wireless tech still has a LONG way to catch up with wired tech, especially in terms of data bandwidth.
