Don't even know where this rumours are coming from. Only way to mitigate this rumour is for the Oppo Find X6 Pro to go global. But I don't think it'll be priced as favourably.

rizki1, 28 Mar 2023chinese phone are strong, they are alive. BBK could buy Nok... moreNice joke👍

The fact actually shows otherwise. Oppo (BBK) doesn't even have money to pay small intellectual property fees to Nokia, let alone buying a whole company.

RIP Oddo, vizo, and Oneminus aka random brand👍

I hope Oppo can settle the dispute with Nokia so that we can move on from this ridiculous thing. HMD is a garbage company that pumps out absolute trash products, and I would definitely be pissed off if Oppo really decided to leave Europe.

Especially in the mid range segment. In fact, Samsung's offerings within the sub £300 price range are pretty mediocre.

Realme/oppo also cater to a whole community of people unable to use amoled/oled devices due to pulse width modulation, as they provide some pretty decent LCD based handsets. Seeing them exit certain markets will affect and negatively impact a lot of people. As well as limiting consumer choice.

There is no disputing the quality of Apple/Samsung's high end devices. However not everyone can afford these, and realme, oppo, oneplus give consumers a more afforable choice within certain price segments, and in some cases, they offer the latest tech at competitive pricing.

I said this in the original post, I don't think this is fake news. Nokia have confirmed legal action/pursuit in a number of different market regions. If the situation isn't rectified, It's only a matter of time before Oppo devices are pulled from these regions.

I doubt it'd make good public relations if Oppo outright released press statements confirming the news. This would impact consumer confidence in their products in those territories. Therefore they'd naturally release PR statements disputing the rumors or claim an alternative reason. (Slow sales etc). This is classic text book PR.

Regardless, I hope for the sake of consumer choice and competitiveness/innovation, the issue is swiftly resolved. It'd be a shame to see any (stable) brand disappear, as this just limits choice.

rizki1, 28 Mar 2023chinese phone are strong, they are alive. BBK could buy Nok... moreYou can buy your way into anything but you can't buy philosophy . even you do .. It won't stay pure.

Hmd global was funded by china ... Sort of an chinese incursion into europe economy ( like nothing is rn) . but they gave up . because like all chinese phone , there was nothing innovative in nokia phones ( which against the fundamental idea of nokia brand ) . now real nokia distanced itself from hmd global with logo change . so even chinese companies bought all west companies , that would just be a huge loss for consumer . cause chinese brands lacks creativity ..

Only thing they will be lauded for ... Is that they broke the tech inequality .which is actually a google samsung joint venture . for a while it helped people . now they are just making the rich and the poor equally depressed .

No smoke without fire. They will be for sure removing their presence within the major EU/UK markets. But, they need time to withdraw and have to create plans which I imagine they're only just working on. So at the present time their statement is correct technically.

They do exactly opposite to that of whatever they say officially.
Example - They denied being part of OPPO. Later on they officially merged with OPPO.
They promised keeping OxygenOS alive like original. promised going back to basics of OxygenOS. But in the end it's just ColorOS renamed to OxygenOS.

Hard to trust whatever they say. But be happy that one will not see them if they exit the markets in real

In Czechia, Realme has already gone. Or at least I am not seeing any new Realme models around. Oppo was never really here to begin with. OnePlus is still around, but I don't know for how long.
I am proud of Czech people. They didn't went just for some nice specs on paper. And many Czech people buy only Samsung phones and iPhones, which let's be serious, are the best phones you can buy right now, together with Pixel phones. No matter what the haters will say, this is the reality in the last 2 years.

chinese phone are strong, they are alive. BBK could buy Nokia if they wanted.
