I am not saying that the carriers and manufacturers are not partly to blame, they most certainly are, but Google don't exactly help. If I remember correctly one Nexus device got licensed by Google and updated to JB from ICS within a week. Another Nexus device made by the same manufacturer finally got the "green light" from Google 3 months later! How is that the fault of the manufacturer or carrier. All Nexus device run stock Android, so what would be any different in the validation process? Answer? Nothing!!

why 4.1 & 4.2 grows slow ?
because this OS update just for high-end device user only.
if you want to increase 4.1 & 4.2 grows, than you must share the OS for midlle-end or maybe some low-end and that will grows Jelly Bean user.

Simple reason is that majority of android devices dose not receive the updates of android 4.1 and 4.2 if updates are available then every user shall update their devices......

The only reason Android OS 4.2 is slow is because of the carriers delaying the updates to there phones. If the companies such as HTC, Samsung, LG supplied the updates themselves to their products like Apple does to IOS, then more devices would be using 4.2.2

It is obvious that aprox. 50% of Androids are used as good old Nokias - just for calls, not as smart-phones.

So most Android users *enjoy* the buggy as hell and universally awful experience of 2.3.7 Gingerbread! GREAT! That's why nobody likes Android...

Which OS is better Android (ICS , JB) Or Windows Phon... moreIn terms of fragmentation Windows Phone 8 is so much more efficient than Android; Windows has a gradual roll out process that makes sure updates roll out smoothly where as Android seems to be random an manufacture dependent like Windows Phone 7 was.
In terms of OS I like Windows Phone 8 because its fast at doing tasks, opening apps etc & is one of the most secure OS that are currently available. Android is still able to get virus, like iOS the device gets slower with updates & applications are not reviewed.

Which OS is better Android (ICS , JB) Or Windows Phon... moreAndroid for a system that isn't a proven continued failure (in mobiles), one that is as open as it will get, one that has the widest app catalog, the one that is sold with the most powerful hardware and has the widest availability of models (both in hardware and pricing).
Right now there really isn't any challenge, only go for WP if you *really* want a Nokia.
