In 2021, vivo made a decent commitment to its newer flagship phones, saying it will deliver three years of upgrades and patches for “select models” in the vivo X series. However, that only applies to devices launched after July 2021 and only applies to the Australian, European, and Indian markets.
Devices that don’t fall under this policy will “continue to receive regular Android security updates” for an unknown period of time. Unfortunately, vivo has not yet amended this policy in 2022, despite detailed promises from sister brands OPPO and OnePlus.

Both my vivo X51 and vivo iQOO 5 Pro launched with Android 10 and are now on Android 12 with a promised update to Android 13. Security patch is january on the iQOO and march on the X51.
Not that I care about software updates, the same way not everyone does, most things just get worse with each software update. For example facebook messenger.. anyway. Samsung's One UI looks exactly the same as it did running Android 9, yes there are some new features, some more useful than others, but nothing unique, unless you have an S22 Ultra or S23 Ultra, or a Note series phone.. but wow so amazing that Samsung is able to provide 3-4 years of software updates, which means absolutely nothing, given that even the A52s became slow after less than a year of usage, which is one of the most powerful A series phones, which means you won't be able to use and be happy with any A series phone for 4 years. Meanwhile the Realme GT Master Edition that I used, then gave to my friend has the same 778G chipset as the A52s, yet that phone hasn't slowed down yet, even tho it too has received plenty of updates. Samsung's software is just way too heavy for the hardware they provide with it, except the S series.

They do not offer long software support as well. So why charge a premium price if you cannot even offer long software support?

May I suggest what's next for BBK? Merge Realme back into Oppo because they are rebranding from each other anyways and using the same UI.
The same suggestion for Xiaomi too. Just merge Redmi and Poco for the same reasons as above.

ae86, 29 Mar 2023didn't we always get news from them selling units like... moreI think they basically just realized that it's just unnecessary waste of money to have iQOO as a separate company, when it wasn't really separate anyways, as their phones are also running the same Origin OS as the china only vivo phones or FunTouch OS as the global vivo phones. Even these two OS have a lot in common.

Just don't try to be like mi, redmi and poco.
They only just rebrand phones.

That's okay. Just need Vivo to make an announcement saying "Hey we merged with Iqoo, but all their would be devices would be made a separate product line entirely like the "Vivo I/IQ" series" and we would need Vivo to just follow whatever naming scheme Iqoo used for it's devices.
Don't need another rebranding fiasco like a "Vivo W89 Pro Ultimate Made in Heaven".
Keep it neat and simple to distinguish and it's a win win situation - Customers don't need to think about another product line with a weird name and brands don't have to waste their time thinking up weird names for their now new product line
