IQ200, 30 Mar 2023I've often seen you commenting (or should I say deffen... moreWell, not a fanboy, but also not a fan of people that talk and have no idea what they are talking about, or some of them who seem that are bashing with a reason more then "just bashing". So i actually do not defend hmd or Nokia for what matters, i let my self be "bothered" by m... But yeah, nokia is something i also grew up with and used for almost 20 years in a constant matter, of course that i used other devices along the line, but well the company always managed to bring me back. So i used phones and smartphones more years then most of this tech-wannabes here lived, and Nokia rarely let me down.
Clean android, small european company, good balanced devices, no money making tracking, no gimmiks, no stealing from others, longer support then most (well, at least before), ethics and business model that i support, warranty. That is what i find "attractive" more then a so called flagship that brings nothing new to the table but horrible software and bloatware, since last Lumia came out. The only company that meets all of this and a bit more, would be Fairphone. And i will for sure support that company too, in the future. This is also their selling point. As for almost ten years, well 6 years is not almost 10 and let's not forget the fact that corona hit them really hard. They were near to bankruptcy, probably survived only because of Nokia the company. The nokia 9 pureview, besides the fingerprint that i never used because of obvious reasons, is actually a great device, with a crazy good camera. Yeah the CPU is not able to handle so much information and is slow to background processing the pics, but the results are still mostly out of the smartphone world. And if one knows some Photography, the camera is even more beast mode. The Only real problem would be, now that is not supported anymore, to install other systems on it without significantly damaging the camera algorithms is imposibile.
When it comes to software fast updates... you're in the wrong network. Letting jokes asside, they we're always among the first to release software updates. But what did that brought them, besides bashing that their software, like google pixel, is full of bugs, and that this and that app does not work? Well, they do updates, they never said how long will it take to release them, but everyone expected 0 to none time difference between google releasing OS upgrades amd hmd upgrading their devices. Exagerate much? I also find it a bit funny to accuse them of not updating, really now? X20, xr20, x10, g50 and probably other lower end devices are on android 13. Name me midrage-low end devices from another brands that were released 2 years ago and received android 13 now. I do not know what trend this is to bash them for software updates, but well, one needs to complain about something now isn't it? If you do not like it,then everybody should think the same. The point is, to call it like they never update you lie to yourself and lie to others too.

Olympus Oms, 30 Mar 2023Thank you for showing us how little you know about Nokia. What it is to know? Old Nokia is dead, new Nokia is shit, end of story.

              How the tables have turned!

Back in the day the big boys were Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Motorola.
Samsung, LG were the cheaper alternatives.
Now it's the other way around.
              I'm talking pre android/ios era.

IQ200, 30 Mar 2023I've often seen you commenting (or should I say deffen... moreI am a fan of nokia . i think like most people , you are another spec zombie here . mad that hmd phones dont have good spec and the stock os . you believe the concept of "best" in all things . nokia isn't best in anything . but its a choice and very distinctive at that .

nokia phones are not expensive . oppo , samsung ,vivo all make great phones priced high with bad spec . only thing is nokia didnt cheap out and made sub brands like "realme for oppo" ,"redmi for xiaomi" , "m series for samsung" to push trash phone with questionable quality .

Nokia has broken many stigma like security is supposed to be only for RICH PEOPLE , the idea that every phone must have 1080p display, people should just throw away 2 yr old phone cz battery died , practice of putting bad camera and glorify with algorithms , every phone must have roumded edge display . but you didnt notice any of them cz you were blinded by spec comparing.

Carol, 30 Mar 2023The wierd part is, that everyone knows that Nokia corporati... moreI've often seen you commenting (or should I say deffending your favorite brand) on Nokia (HMD Global) comment thread which makes me think that you are a fanboy. Fanboys are not objective when they have to rate device from a brand they're supporting. But I will ask anyway because I'm curious I guess. So.. my question is:

Are Nokia smartphones really atractive to you to buy and why?
It's not my attempt to troll you in any way. I am really asking you why are (HMD Global) Nokia branded phones atractive to you for buy.

I was a Nokia fan back in early 2000s. I even had a Nokia fan card with my name on it because of how in love was with their phones, but I can't find any similarities with HMD Global besides the branded name. People born in 80s like I am are very aware of what Nokia represented in late 90s and early 2000s.

Everyone knew their value back then. And now? Where is the value in Nokia branded (HMD Global) phones today? What is their selling point? They're using Nokia brand name for almost 10 years and what exactly did they achieve in that period? Who remembers their models? Except Nokia 9 Pureview, but not because it was a great device. It's quite the opposite. They're one of the most expensive phone brands in the world. But I am aslimg you as their fanboy why? Bad software support as they sent them when we already have the next version of Android, even they promise a 3 (or 4 who cares) Android versions they are always late to the party. Seriously outdated hardware with the biggest price on the market. So, I am really asking you as a HMD Global fanboy, what is so appealing in their offer because I just can't see it. And I really wanted to see it as I already mentioned, I was a huge Nokia fan hoping for a return in smartphone bussiness but not like this. Their offerings are total nonsense to me and I genuinly don't know if I would ever recommend their phones to anyone as they are so unattractive in every possible way. Even their design is generic which is of course subjective.

Hope you will not focus too much on my banting on HMD Global and rather focusing on my questions instead. Sorry if I hurt your feelings, but HMD Global is really the worst phone brand for me. I honestly think people are buying HMD Global phones only because they think it's the real Nokia, the one which made their ne so popular. Sure, we had many products from Nokia like rubber tyres and TVs, but they were the most popular with making and selling phones.

                      Thanks in advance!
                      Cheers!
