Qimchi, 06 Apr 2023Same XAVC video codecs and formats. Same frame rates 4K120 ... moreFor now it's limited to 4K/60 - 1080/120, who knows when and if the fw update will really come.
And I already told you, no mechanical shutter means it's almost useless for fast moving photography + all the disadvantages of an electronic shutter concerning dynamic range and noise, no viewfinder means it sucks to frame on sunny days (and the display is low res), the IBIS is rated 0,5 stops lower than other sony cameras (not a big deal but it's there), single SD slot (a big sucker here), NO RAW video output, only 2 dials, MICRO hdmi (another big sucker), shorter recording times...
This is a joke at over 2200 euros, it makes no sense that you are trying so hard to defend it.
Under 1200/1300 we can start to talk about it

The A7S III has a viewfinder, a mechanical shutter, more output options, better I/O and a much better ergonomy, The Fx3 is on another level compared to the ZV-E1. I repeat, at over 2000 $/€ it's simply ridiculous

Well, at least for the Sony Alpha family because DPreviews TV compared the A7S to the A7R. Conclusion? The higher MP is better for photos because it's sharper. A7S is better for videos or lighter, faster situations. Difference in noise? Negligible but the A7S has bigger blocks of noise at a larger print size.

SigmaR, 03 Apr 2023I don't see that much rolling shutter in the videos of... moreThe ZV-E1 doesn't need to dream. It's literally a price cut A7Siii and a sibling to the FX3.

Qimchi, 30 Mar 2023That's not the point. The point is you don't need... moreI don't see that much rolling shutter in the videos of the Canon R5. I would gladly pay the price difference, considering it also gives you a viewfinder, a much better ergonomy, and many more perks the ZV-E1 can only dream about. And the R5 is just an example. This Sony is heavily lacking at the price they ask. It should be well under 1500$/€

Qimchi, 02 Apr 2023It doesn't matter what size of sensor they use. If the... moreI think it depends. There was once a prototype 2MP full frame sensor that could record day like videos in moonlight/ dark rooms. It never launched though.

You see, FF sensor with 12 megapixels means individual pixel sites are big, which means less noise at higher ISO.
Its good for those photographers who want excellent pics in the darker scenes. Their ISOs go in thousands and lakhs. ISO 102400 for example.
Not to mention, you're always ready for slow motion 4K as well. Who knows what your client will demand and when?

The typical 61MP FF would give higher noise at this ISO(although it won't support it out of the box), though I've heard the modern cameras handle higher ISO's far better than older ones with BSI sensors and other advancements.
But yes, instead of ZV, they could go for the AIIIS altogether.

mawlki, 02 Apr 2023When people buy a FF camera its not for social media. It doesn't matter what size of sensor they use. If they are going to share those pics or videos online there's a high chance of it being compressed. Also speak for yourself there's a ton of users on IG using a Mirrorless camera from a point and shoot all the way to Medium format size. If they are going to be a professional photographer for a paying company they shouldn't be looking at the ZV line.

But what are the viewers going to see the pictures through? If its the general most used social media platforms it's definitely not going to be full res anyway unless its Reddit.

Its not about billboards, this happens right here at home. For among this reason i switched from a otherwise perfectly fine Canon 40D (10 MP) to a 7DII and am very happy with 20MP. 12MP is almost ok but you do need the full res shots. crop is dissapointment. Totall not needed nowadays. Heck theres even 33 and 40MP apsc sensors now.

Social media is good for phone pics

First reaction: a small full-frame camera that also records excellent video. I might just sell my S23 and but this along with a feature phone.

I also don't expect sony to do impossible, I guess A7cII with 33Mp is most likely, which is still better than it staying the same.

Unless, they do an A7Rc which would Definitely sacrifice that awesome screen mechanism.
