UltraHD, 04 Apr 2023So your best guess is to generalize everybody? I know peopl... morethat seems like the only rational reason for why people own iphones. there are people who don't care about what phone to buy and just buy apple because it has a hyped reputation and everyone talks about it and the rest buys iphone to show off. go out, look for somebody who owns an iphone, ask him why he bought it. what do you thnik he is going to say? either because he has been using it for years or because he got used to iphones from beginning or because it is just iphone and impresses people when they see the oversized camera bump on the back.

SShock, 04 Apr 2023Well, considering they are charging 1000€ for vanilla model... moreWhy would they, to stop the hemorrhaging of their customer base as they defect to Android in droves over the lack of HRR, well that isn't happening. And I don't see Apple moving to anything less than 120hz when they do choose to do so. They certainly won't be putting the word 'lite' anywhere in the spec sheet.
Look, on paper the lack of HRR does appear to be a negative. In real world usability, the impact is minimal. Apple will do it, just like with everything else though it will be in their own time.
What I will agree on is the pricing of the standard iPhone line, its getting out of hand.

So by the time when even budget android phones have 120hz screens as standards then Apple will give there phones this feature too.
If we already see phones with 90hz screens and on LCD and AMOLED on budget then in 2025 probably 120hz for budget is nothing special

Anonymous, 04 Apr 2023i do not know anyone who bought an iphone for another reaso... moreSo your best guess is to generalize everybody? I know people who bought it and couldn't care less for the logo, they've been using the same iPhone for the last four years and won't upgrade unless they see something different. Does that sound someone who's showing off?

That's okay. It's an iPhone, can be without a camera and display, but it's an iPhone

What, 04 Apr 2023Apple is a silly company. Now 120hz is a premium feature? There's now a problem with Android phones. How do they improve from now on? 144/165hz consumes a lot of power and has barely any improvements over 120hz, and camera sizes have become so big that some companies don't even have space for multiple cameras or OIS on these massive sensors now. Chipsets get faster but also are getting hotter.
Apple knows this, so they deliberately make the feature set rollout slow for their iPhones. It makes me salty because I am unwilling to pay top dollar for iPhone 14 Pro Max and unwilling to use a vanilla iPhone 14 due to the lacking hardware. But honestly, that's good business for them. As for me, I think I'll just buy an S21 or S22 Ultra after they drop sufficiently in price.

PepperPot, 04 Apr 2023Samsung is on Gen 4 and no one has ironed out the crease. ... more4 gens, 5 gens whatever, In my opinion there should not have been a crease on any of them, at all. I'm planning on staying clear of the foldable form factor until it offers only benefit without compromise compared to a slab design. Paying a premium for a screen that is both weaker and creased simply because I can fold it, is not a wise investment.
So I'm happy for this stuff to get tested in Android land, and Apple to wait however long it takes until these comprises are worked out.

1000+$ phone with no high refresh rate. It's hilarious how fanboys are eating up everything from their favorite companies😂

DaFink, 04 Apr 20235 gens and they still haven't ironed out all the creas... moreSamsung is on Gen 4 and no one has ironed out the crease. In fact all teardrop foldables have more crease visibility than their predecessors. Oppo still remains the least visible but the crease is still slightly more apparent than the 1st gen. Honor's crease looks just as visible as the Z4. The only one that might be better is the Mate X3, but we won't know until we actually see reviews.

The plus model was a mistake
You're better off getting the pro from last year than the new plus which would be around the same price
